Because its a very inefficient use of energy. It's a thing of the past that worked 40 years ago.

AJ has a very strong chin.

    AJ is 8 inches taller

AJ has 11 inches more reach

AJ is 2 stone heavier in muscle

AJ Punches as hard or harder.

Mike Tyson is my favorite fighter but he can't beat the above list. You gotta be REALISTIC.

Maybe so - but it's the most efficient strategy against much rangier fighters.

Based on what AJ has shown so far, he would not beat Mike Tyson. He does still have the potential to become a better fighter. If Joshua had better skills and conditioning to go along with his massive size, he might have a chance. But, that remains to be seen.

    When has AJ gassed? Evidence?

What lack of skills apart from movement? Evidence?

I don't know. Was he able to reach the 6'5" Lou Savarese's head?

Um thats debatable. Joshua has been dropped a lot. Klitschko, Price, Dubois, Whyte and some other guy in the amateurs have all either dropped or really rattled Joshua and thats being honest.

    Do you mean strong heart?

I beg to differ. I think its because theres no Cus around to teach it. You can't say definitively that it wouldnt work today, if theres no-one around that has that style. We have Takam and Povetkin as our shorter fighters but they have no real head movement and that could be whats missing from their game.

He took Klitchkos best shot, and got up in good time. If that shot landed on any other heavy.... you'd be talking game over right? Be honest man.

Povetkin is a dangerous power puncher, like a few shots to drop price? And many many others?

He hit Joshua as hard as he could, many many many times... I got the punch stats you know... and Joshua soaked it all up. Those punches would have dropped mostly everyone. They certainly dropped Takam.

Povetkin already employs that style to a certain degree, not quite as much as Tyson because he is already 4 inches taller than Tyson and 4 Inches more reach.

This style is notorious for sapping energy quickly through the legs, but it's effective to close the distance against rangy guys.

I understand what you're saying in all of your post above and fair point but do not miss the point that he was dropped by fighters far less accomplished as Wlad and Povetkin.

I think he has a decent chin and shows very good heart but he doesn't have a very solid chin. I think Joshua would admit that himself.

I don't think Povetkin hasn't anywhere near as a 20 year old Tyson had it. Not even close. The lunging left hook is instinctively too slow.

He does use some head movement to a certain degree and it does sap energy.

    It's so tiresome debating you.

Don't talk to me about my own subjective opinions after what you've wrote.

    Again, everyone's circumstances are different.

Povetkin isn't shot. And if you think he is, that's up to you. But don't come on here saying that he has to be because Mike was at a similar age.

Mike was shot because he physically couldn't emulate his early style, he had diminished reflexes, no timing, and he had no love whatsoever for the sport. He was fighting with Finkle because he had to. He was embroiled in lawsuits and had lost millions. His life was in a chaotic mess. He fought purely for the pay checks.

You keep bringing up the McBride defeats out of pure desperation.

The best version of Mike Tyson who fought to his full capabilities, was better than any version of Povetkin. This is where you tie yourself up. You think Povetkin is now shot. Okay, fine.

So: by your own admission, a shot 39 old Povetkin has just caused AJ a lot of trouble, where he got through with a lot of clean shots early on in the fight. Yet you're going to tell me that the version of Mike who blasted Spinks and Holmes, couldn't have had any more success than what Povetkin had?

Look at Mike's style and speed. Look at his power. Look at the shots Povetkin was able to land.

    You are talking absolute nonsense.

The real reason you'd favour AJ over any version of Mike, is because you're both ignorant and biased.
