Who said Marciano was like Thor and Odin? Nobody. Yet you say that’s how people look at him. I’m doing the same thing here to be ironic, lol, but you can’t pick up on it because you’re too tunnel visioned on tearing Rocky down.

I don’t care to argue the virtue of James Tillis. Of course it’s not a nice thing to say.

I’m showing how easy this is. And how shallow it is to use one quote out of thousands to reinforce a narrative.

Charles wasn’t impressed with Marcianos power? Neither was Tillis with Tyson’s. To say the least. And Tyson’s supposed to be the version of Marciano with superpowers.

There is no evidence that Charles EVER changed his opinion on Walcott and Marciano's respective hitting power. You're trying to lay bricks without cement, go away and do some research, it will be a a lot more profitable for you, and perhaps you wont come on here repeating fairy tales .

Both had great power. I don't think it's implausible that Walcott's best shot was harder than Rocky's best shot. But Walcott wasn't nearly as relentless.

OnTHor/Rocky. I've read posts from idiots saying he only had to land one clean punch to ko anyone that his stamina was so out there in front of his opposition they were left toiling in his wake,that, and this is from you I think, he was defensively clever with good balance.

If Marciano fans are expected to be objective why can't the Ali fans also be objective?

Not necessarily, but I don't think people are showing much objectivity when they compare Ali with skilled super heavies. If your making some attempt at being objective the relative lack of success by Ali sized heavyweights in the last 22 years should be a major cause for concern with regards to Ali's chances. The fact that people just dismiss this fact suggests they are being driven by raw emotion rather than logic.

 

Maybe I'm wrong but I see a bit of irony in someone who accusses Marciano fans of overrating him and then proceeds to pick Ali and Foreman over Anthony Joshua. You don't see a bit of a contradiction in all this?

 

Personally I don't ,principally because I have Ali as my number 1 all time heavyweight and Marciano does not crack my top ten. so no I see no contradiction whatsoever.
I don't think its just the fact that Marciano is undersized
for the 70's and upwards heavies,but that he was crude defensively,slow of both hand and foot,had a tiny reach, and had a tendency to cut .
I'd give Dempsey for example a much better chance against the bigger heavies because he was a lot quicker into range, had faster hands and feet, was more evasive, and did not cut,plus he was proven against big men.
