two of the early WBO Heavyweight Champs who could have met…..had it not been for mr. ray mercer.
ironically, both were beating up mercer when they got hammered by ray.

however, both are polar opposites in every way: damiani was a great Amateur beating the likes of teofilio Stevenson. morrison turned pro at 18.

morrison looked like star…...damiani had the slightly overweight "dad bod". morrison had the Speed and power.....but lacked stammina and chin.
damiani was an average Puncher with a great chin and awesome Endurance.

    so who you got??

I think this has been done before.

I actually quite like the very underrated Damiani to wear him out down the stretch. He was a durable fighter with a lot of different punches at his disposition. He had an awkward kind of rythmn and gave everybody except McCall (who he faced woefully out of shape) problems. Of course an exposive puncher like Tommy has a chance early on to close the deal on him but I rather fancy Damiani to chug along and take control later.

Damiani managed to put a whooping on Mercer (before getting stopped) and dealt with Page fairly easily. He also beat another glass cannon in du Plooy without hassles. Could be wrong though. Could be that they fight and Tommy's great left hook finds a home early and that's all that she wrote. But I don't think so.

i completely agree. Tommy really had a Problem with durable guys that could push him late. Joe hipp took him to the Edge....and hipp was no damiani.
i think damiani stops him late.

The Mercer fights strongly suggest Damiani.
