And you have to call an ace an ace. Groves was ****ing stupid as well. When you're outboxing your opponent who is two weight classes bigger than you, you take the Fing knee! Does he get a big one? Just go down before he actually puts you to sleep. He could win this on cards.

 

Well just remember from the last couple of weeks, ignore jabs as scoring punches and maybe George did only win one round. I'm tired of explaining this to casual fight fans who score fights based on three seconds of a round that didn't include a knockdown.

 

He has very little boxing ability and would be comically undersized. He needs to get back to 160 and get his ass handed to him there instead.

5-1, 4-2 Groves or 3-3 are all fair. I don't see how anyone could give Groves only 1 round. He did the better work in almost every round with Smith having the odd moment that made them close.

 

Show some class. I'm a bigger Groves fan then you, I've been to watch him live numerous times.

But you've made two outlandish claims now so obviously you are going to get called out on it. You aren't the only poster I've quoted on this thread.

Considering Smith has been sitting on the self for a few years, to make the step up so astutely was impressive.

 

It's his defence mechanism to being tagged, he always comes back swinging rather than trying to recover and ruperate.

He has to come in close to land the jab and he was watching out for the right hand over the top of it, never saw the hook coming, but I actually think it was the body shot that did the most damage tbh.

 

The Super Middleweight division is a wasteland, it's time for one of the elite middleweights to move up and clean that **** stain of a division out.

 

Any of you capable of being objectively honest, ask yourselves:

If you strip away "the event", and this weren't a WBSS finals match, and you had never heard of Groves nor Smith - would you really think you had just watched anything other than a shite fight (from the sound of it ending with a fittingly anticlimactic quit job)?

 

Except in the 7th Smith was taking a breather and wasn't doing a whole lot. Groves could had bagged an easy round continuing to box instead he opted to go gun hoe and get stopped. He fired back more effectively when he was actually hurt, in the 7th he was just looking to take it to Smith who was looking to take the round off.
