Yeah very true. Boxed a good fight. Thought the counter over the jab was a great tactic. Good finish and like you say has some solid attributes to do well at SMW. Still hate the smiths like. Set of deekheads.

 

Should we start to embrace this change of tides as to what is the norm in divisions? Hurd in 154, Smith in 168, Charlo and Jacobs being 180cm+ on MW.

But yes, I just can't see why people wouldn't call Smith a weight bully seeing how much size he had on Groves tonight.

Formidable SMW! Heck of a statement! To dispatch of Groves & Fielding like that!! He just needs to loosen up & have a bit more confidence & he'll mature into a heck of a fighter! UK has a new boxing star.. & fair play to Grove's he's had a quality career, took Degales 0 when everyone said he'd lose, shut Eubanks mouth, beat Chudinov, Johnson, Murray, pushed Froch & Jack to the brink etc.. Fulfilled his goal of becoming champion & reached the WBSS final too! always a pleasure to watch.. Best of luck champ.

Another UK SMW star is born. Instinctive finisher, goes through the gears nice & patiently, chin tested here too.. Be a hard fighter to beat. Fair play! He'll grow with this performance. That's how u become a world champion, no PEDs or cooked cards!! Go on Callum... Nice kid.

 

Does he cut a lot of weight though?

And the way I see it, if two men can make weight they are in the same class. If he can continue to safely make weight there's no reason to move up when he's only just won his belt

 

#1 in a division that is clearly among the bottom rungs on the boxing ladder at the moment. Huzzah.

 

Groves was doing the general better work but he was getting tagged too often and too cleanly imo.

I had it 3-3 and felt the clearest round for Groves was the 5, the rest were very close.

 

You **** up enough with things like that than you dig your own grave. I'm not going to be the first one to start shoveling dirt into that hole it but if the dude can't remain cool while watching a fight than something does need to be done. No one should ever be in fear they're going to get banned because they disagree with another poster.

I ****ing lose stupid amounts of money on fights on here and am able to chuckle and act like a composed human being. If you can't do that when you have no stake in a contest besides a pick in a prediction league, than you need actual psychiatric help.

I can't see how he can't be looking how massive he is. He'd need hollow bones to be otherwise.

And it's not him in particular, I don't like the culture of trying to massively outsize your opponent. No point in having weight classes if that's the case.
