Ortiz will stop him in 7 rounds, you have to be able to control range or have good defence to beat Ortiz, unless you have equaliser like Wilder.
Ha ha, Ortiz will be paid by the wbc to not fight him, JJ would be far, far to athletic for the ol' boy. A Joe Joyce victory over Ortiz reduces Wilder's resume to discarded bog roll and they can't have that. Ortiz won't fight again until Wider has already lost, unless it's against the Allens of the world.
I think Ortiz has stamina issues so if Joyce can survive the early onslaught and preserve some gas in the tank it would a hard final rounds for King Kong. Joyce could potential wear him down.
Joyce has a terrific engine, you're right if Oritz doesn't take him out early he might very well just get overwhelmed with Joyce's work rate. The danger for Joyce is his aggression works against him but at some point if he's still standing and not taken too much punishment his aggression will eventually see him grind down Ortiz.
Yes, if it goes late Joyce may well get the stoppage. However I feel that stylistically Ortiz is all wrong for Joyce, the only reason Joyce could win this now is due to Ortiz's age/stamina. Joyce's relentless come forward style will probably see him walk onto Ortiz's best shots and get hurt or knocked out, he doesn't have the greatest chin. I think Joyce is better off pursuing a UK derby with Joshua, which would pay much better. He'll probably still lose, but stylistically if he can pressure Joshua into gassing, he can win by late stoppage or decision.
Joyce has to make Ortiz work harder than he wants too. If he runs in he will run into something, if he moves he will lose on points, he needs to literally box the perfect tactical fight to pull it off
Wow. Some serious delusion here. Call me when Ortiz beats a decent HW. Joe Joyce is a handful for anyone at heavy, AJ, Wilder....anyone. Ortiz, simply put, cannot hang. Definitely not for 12 rounds.
