15 rounds at Light Heavyweight. Despite Floyd being the one who had success at the big boy division, I wouldn't be surprised if Saad looked to be the bigger man in the ring.

I'm a Saad fan but imo Patterson would knock him out in the mid rounds.

Patterson was superior in almost every department and he would have been a phenomenal Light Heavyweight.

I don’t believe Miricle Matt has this miricle in him. Love Saad but think he is out of his element. He might even get stopped along the way

Saad could win....but he would have to use the boxing version of Saad early, then bring the tough, powerful Saad late. Otherwise, Floyd takes Saad out mid-rounds.

Floyd too fast and powerful for Saad. Floyd was a hard puncher at heavyweight, against a lightheavy his power would be crushing.

The thread says Floyd at LH? Virtually everyone gives this one to Floyd, I agree but what Floyd? He outgrew the LH division even tho he was low-80's vs. Archie. IMO this is a 'not to be considered' thread. I guess what we're saying here is a 175 Floyd vs. a 175 Saad?
Floyd was a teenager when he was 175 and left it behind soon after....

Yes, it would be heavyweight Floyd against light heavy Saad. I think Floyd would have always, relatively, easily made the 175 limit as a heavyweight, up until the end of his career

Floyd going up to heavyweight was a conscious choice he and his management made. He didn't so much "outgrow" the light heavyweight division as decide to chase the big crown. Beside Liston and a little later Ali many were under 200 and the gap wasn't overly pronounced. It was a masterstroke and worked well as he had good success and carried excellent power up there. The timing was also perfect as if he stayed at 175 for longer he would have run straight into the likes of Liston and Clay up there instead of having time without them.

Floyd Patterson had more ability and skills than Mathew Saad Muhammad. Saad had a huge heart, but was far too easy to hit.
