Tell you what @moog you said it all along. Your belief was never shaken despite the scrutiny. For a few years you’ve been saying it. Credit where it’s due, bud.

Cheers pal appreciate it. You can only say what you feel your seen and with Smith everytime a challenge was put in front of him he upped his level always looked more complete than Groves and better suited to championship boxing. He has now won English, British, European, World Championship, Ring Magazine belt by stoppage victories and all bar 1 of them he has won in 1st round. Lets all get behind him and enjoy the special fighter we have.

There's not a lot of quality out there at SMW, Uzcategui may give him problems, can't think of anyone else.

This. I thought Groves would edge a decision but Smith was so impressive. The guy is a tremendous fighter.

Groves was awful. Both were poor actually. The division is so weak Smith might string a few defences together. Uzcategui would beat him. Any tough guy has a chance. That was groves undoing. ....hes not tough. Froch was right all along. You can't fight Smith going backwards... You have to attack him. A good left hooker would do it. People are totally overrating Smith. Totally.

I haven't posted for a while and it's easy to say in hindsight but the fight went pretty much exactly how I thought; two world class SMW's negating each other's strengths to a certain extent with Smith's youth/freshness being able to withstand Groves big shots rather than vice versa - in short I thought Smiths' "top-end" power would be the difference and that turned out to be the case.

I pretty certain Smith will clean up the other 3 belts before moving up to LHW and being in some mega fights.

Without his size advantage callum would be a club fighter. That was his best performance and a good finish no doubt but groves was awful, basically quit, and still probably would've won on points but for the one left hook. Don't worry I'll be proven right yet, wait and see. First live opponent exposes Smith again. How about rematching the middle aged retired kickboxer that almost beat him?
Ramirez or uzcategui beat him all day. You'll see... .

I don't think Groves was aweful at all Len, Smith did the right thing and kept patient all the way through. Groves problem was he got too confident in round 7 when he was pushing Smith back a bit and started going for too much. He had the same issue in two other rounds where he got caught, trading with a big puncher.

I thought he would get knocked down at some point the way he was carrying on. If he had just been sensible and boxed smart behind the jab he could of taken it on points imo. I think as he was starting to take over from round 4 onwards. He got caught by a great counter shot and the body finish by Smith was great.

Len I think you’re a good poster but you’re coming out with some shite in regards to this fight.
