It was the annual BBBC awards last night.
The top award is of course fighter of the year.
Last night it was Won by Josh Taylor

In the running was, AJ, Warrington, Burnett, Ritson.

Tbh I would of placed Taylor and his achievements bottom of that list last night. I like Taylor but I think there was more deserving in that list. He won a closish eliminater against a good fighter.

    Warrington or Ritson for me.

Who do you think should of won it?
    Do you agree with Taylor?

Up and coming maybe. No chance he should’ve won outright fighter of the year.

Groves would’ve been a candidate until last night after defeating Eubank.

Callum will be a candidate now after defeating Groves!

But the fighter of the year for me and I doff my cap off to him because I wrote him off is Josh Warrington.

EDIT: SORRY IM STILL HALF DRUNK. THOUGHT THIS WAS JOSH KELLY!!

I can’t argue with Taylor. Postol and Vasquez. Was the Ohara Davies win slightly before the past year.

Also please tell me Haye got some sort of legend award.

Anthony Joshua is in with a good shout too.

Joseph Parker and Povetkin. 2 fantastic wins.

Joshua should have won fighter of the year if you go by opponents beat.

Ritson probably. Big fan of his and it has nothing to do with him but more the level of comp he's been blowing away.

Think Ritson would have been better suited to a “breakout star of the year” or “prospect of the year” type award. No idea what sort of categories they have though.

Very deserved in terms of what he has actually achieved.

As I understand it, it usually runs from August to August so the O’Hara Davies would be counted.

In that period Taylor has went from a being 9 fight fighter commonwealth holder to being a world title mandatory and one of the top in the division.

He’s arguably achieved far more than any of the other fighters listed. I can’t see how any right minded person can have him bottom of that list.

Afaik it didnt inc ohd if it did then maybe I wouldn't have him bottom. But if it doesn't Inc him, his other two wins aren't anything that the others having done.
Warrington deposed of a world champion who'd defended his belt many times, who was also ibf champion of the year. He also had a good win vs ceylan.
I can maybe agree that ritson would of maybe be better served in a different category but even so, he won then destroyed 3 other capable fighters who were fighting at the level ritson supposedly was to win the British outright in such a short time.
I'm a big fan of Taylor but on paper imo he hasn't done anything really special. He's done good things, yes.
If it's correct that ohd is in that list, then I wouldn't have him bottom.
