Yes I did I had Groves up 4-2 at the time of the stoppage, Smith was clearly hurting him from the first round with right hands. However he wasn’t active now enough, he was giving groves way too much space. It’s a good win, he scored a great KO but it wasn’t a great performance, definitely one I would use to say he will eclipse SMW great. If he beats Benavidez, Uzcategui, Ramirez, moves up and beats whoever is the Unified LHW king at the time he will have a shot, but remember Ward cleaned out the SMW division with ease. So he needs to be dominant with those wins too.
Gee, i never looked really looked at it like that Gee. Hes rewatching bernard hopkins greatest hits and crying into his hankey. "Its not fair..why..."
so... yeh....i backed smith long before this bout was made. how much of a fool do you want to shown to be, exactly?
You are right. It was 4-2, just not to Groves. Since that right hand landed in rd2 for smithy and made groves do samba dance writting was on the wall. Smithy controled the range, pushed groves back and made him very uncomfortable every round. This escapes most baaaxing fans. Its no embarrassment yaka. But that finish from Smith was golvokin like. Groves said it himself never been hurt to the body. And smithy done it.
The only undoing i can see for smithy, @ 168lb is if the true middleweight king, who was robbed 2twice decides to step up. GGG baby. otherwise 168lb is gift wrapped.
You are sounding like a fan boy. If you think Smith is gunna eclipse Wards career because he has one top -0 name on his ledger that’s a big leap.
Kovalev's problem is that it seems that he doesn't like to train and is a lazy SOB. I pity the guy that gets him on the fight where he's trained like a demon and all fired up.
Cheating ass Smith! Had him losing by DQ. Groves was down for a second when that cheat Smith punched on the back of the head. Ref didn't do anything. Probably paid off. Corruption at it's best!
I've googled him. Apparently his first name was Andre or Andrew and he boxed a few years ago. He sounded pretty good, but what a shame that he fell so close to the magnificent smith era that eclipses every fighter?
