I don't think he did, he wouldn't be strong enough on the inside all fight Len. He wasn't as patient as Smith at times, Smith literally just waited for every round, you could see Groves wanted to engage more and was less patient imo. He fought the right fight in general, just when he started to get some momentum and went for too much. I don't see any other way he could of won last night except for what he was doing, landed some great bodyshots when against the ropes and didnt go for too much then in general was quite tight defensively on the ropes, it was when he wasn't against the ropes he traded wildly. He's a bit like Khan at times in that his instinct is to brawl but to a lesser extent. I even said it will be a hook that does him, if he comes unstuck and that's the shot that finally did him and to be fair it was an absolute peach. Just give Smith credit Len, he won fair and square in the end.
And without Deontay Wilder's power he's a club fighter, its an irrevalent argument to bash Smith with.
