One thing I think we can all agree on for Wilder Fury

If the fight ends in a decision, Fury will almost certainly be the winner. If it ends by stoppage, Wilder will almost certainly be the winner.

Personally, I think it's either a decision win for Fury or a late stoppage win for Wilder. Wilder has a track record of not doing much and getting outboxed for a long time, before he times his opponent and stops him late. To varying extents this happened with Spilzka, Washington, and Ortiz. And Fury is a better, longer boxer than any of them and should be more confusing and harder to time than the others. I could see Wilder getting an 11th round stoppage well behind on the cards.

Disagree, Wilder is the home fighter and will be favorite with the judges.
Also if he scores a KD or 2 he will most certainly win a decision.

Fury's last good fight was against a guy with huge power. Fury was gun shy. Did not throw a lot of punches. If he fights the same way, I can see Wilder easily outworking Fury to decision win. Fury needs to be throwing more than what he did in the klit fight. If not he may get put to sleep by the 6th.

Thanks for the for the compliment.

I've got to go in a few minutes, so just a few thoughts, but I have Wilder by KO.

First reason is I don't think Fury is ready, he's looked a lot easier to hit in his last two fights, and although he does have a habit of fighting at his opponent's level, I don't think he can bridge the gap in levels so suddenly. Between Pianeta and Wilder is a huge gulf, regardless of all the jokes we make about Wilder.

Second reason is that in my view Wilder is a very difficult match-up stylistically. Since Fury doesn't have a great deal of power I suspect he needs to avoid the big Wilder right for 12 rounds ... i.e. walk the tightrope. I can't see this version of Fury managing to do it. Another factor is that Wilder has a really unusual style. Fury might be able to avoid all the normal shots, but he won't be expecting the strange stuff (sometimes borderline illegal, e.g. hammer blows) that Wilder throws.

The third and final reason is that basically everyone in the industry thinks Wilder wins. Simply the fact that his team are letting him take the fight tells me they are confident about the outcome. Wilder has got far more to lose, if Fury wins Wilder won't get a Joshua fight in a hurry and even if he did, he'd get the very short end of the money. Fury can lose, say he's not ready, beat a few more bums, and then cash out against Joshua. Since he's from the UK and also has the first win vs Klitschko he'll always be a good scalp for Joshua, in addition he's got a bit of a following here ... so despite Eddie's protestations to the contrary, Fury can afford to lose this one. Wilder can't, so if it's close on the cards Wilder will get it.

I honestly don't think Fury can afford to lose, he would probably get depressed and balloon up to 400 lbs again and retire. His AJ payday would be basically gone.
Wilder is a bum who's faced noone according to Fury, this defeat would be humiliating.

And Hearn has already ruled out Fury fight if he loses - which is understandable because then Fury would bring nothing to the table, no belt, no money and no following and AJ would be busy trying to make fights with Wilder/Usyk/Whyte and Miller. Why the hell would he need Fury?

It's a fair point about Fury's mental state, you could be right there.

However even if Fury lost, it's still a good money fight for Joshua. I know Eddie says that Joshua-Fury doesn't happen if Fury loses, but the money will sway it. Barry Hearn is on video saying that even if Fury loses to Wilder the Joshua fight is still there for him.

I think there will be a ref who stamps down hard on clinching or inside work* and judges who look down on hit and run tactics. I don't discount a win for fury by the scorecards but I think it could be more difficult to achieve than you may expect.

Fair enough. I'm suffiently convinced from you and others that I have underrated Wilders chances on the cards. I still think it's either a Fury card win or a Wilder late ko, though. And I do think people are sleeping on Fury in this one. After all, his chances will almost certainly be set higher than they were against Wlad, so he's done it before.

Yeah, money wise if he can keep his mental state together it only helps one way or another. He either wins and forces a near 50/50 purse with AJ, or loses, gets paid alot for it, and then goes on and gets paid about as much as eddie would be offering now.

That said, I also thinks it's all upside for Wilder too, as I think that same scenario would basically play out as with fury. It's a savvy move for both of them to fight each other before fighting AJ.

Tyson Fury will dominate early. He'll land lots and he won't get hit that much. Then, in round nine, he will dramatically gas. The end of the fight will be ugly as all hell, loads of holding and leaning and wrestling. Two points off for Fury. Wilder takes a roundly questionably decision and snappily moves on to Joshua.

Clearly having won only rounds 10, 11 and 12, Wilder takes the W on the cards.

Wilder could win by decision, Fury will be hesitant and Wilder only needs to throw more punches which he will but it's more likely that Fury gets knocked out.

If Fury wins this fight it will be a close decision but i doubt it.
