Joshua would be favoured to demolish in a round?

Frazier might make it into the second but his lack of defense would play into Joshua's hands.

What did Norton say about Shavers?

Joshua would probably be the heaviest puncher Frazier ever faced and has kayoed a number of guys who were never previously been stopped. Norton didn't make it out of the first round against Shavers or Cooney so I think a first round stoppage is probable.

Charles was on his feet as the referee counted ten.

It makes sense. Walcott did have more one punch power than Marciano. Goldman himself said plenty of guys punched harder than Marciano, but what separated Marciano from the rest was that his power didn't fade and the punch volume would never stop. Goldman said Ingemar Johansson and Oscar Bonavena both hit harder than Marciano, but Marciano was a superior fighter to both.

Think a guy named Foreman would whole heartedly disagree.

The only big puncher Frazier faced demolished him and Norton lost to every big puncher he faced. Neither man would appear to possess the defensive skills to avoid Joshua's shots or the durability to absorb his punches without going down. Frazier would be right in front of Joshua, he is not going to be using lateral movement.

This appears to be an absolutely horrific stylistic matchup for both men.

I'd like a source for these quotes.
I agree in principle that Rocky continued to throw his hardest punches all through out a fight.
Rocky was certainly superior to both Ring, and Ingo ,and possibly Bingo and Dingo.

I don't think it's particularly shocking to consider that other fighters might have punched harder on a punch by punch basis when fresh. Marciano wasn't a huge man, even by the standards of the time, and lacked speed and explosiveness, as well as the crispness of technique to turn guys lights out without battering them into submission first.

But I don't see why anyone would be particularly hung up about that at the end of the day. Punching power is only ever a means to an end.

The point about Dempsey's speed and being proven against bigger men is interesting. However, he doesn't seem to have faced any big punchers so with Marciano there are questions regarding his chin. The Firpo knockdowns though could suggest lack of durability needed to compete with big hitters. He also seems to have been pretty hurt against Sharkey but you could argue he was past his best I suppose.

Firpo was a big puncher, so was Willard and Fulton.
