Groves gloves never touched the canvas so he wasn't on the ground but bent over, so no DQ.:boxing1

Destruction of Groves > point victory frocho in USA
Fielding > Grab fest vs Alan Green.

Hmm its a tight one. Lets not forget the draw vs Bika.:ohno

    .

He was down on a knee when the last blow came in. Technically a DQ.

So, Kessler and Froch vs Fielding. Ward wins. :D

Obviously hyperbolic, but even from a perspective of building a CV, there aren't many good names out there.

Bashing up Eubank Jr would be funny, but it does nothing for him, really. Maybe DeGale. Other guys there have much the same issue, Ramirez, Benavidez, he's already beaten Rocky Fielding & Groves.

He was fortunate it happened in Middle Eastern Asia, as he could have fallen into a Korma after that.

I like Smith but he hasn't come close to passing Froch's resume nevermind Ward's. I've never took you for a troll, you are coming off a bit ridiculous here.

Ward beating Froch is a much better win than Smith winning by hitting Groves on the back of the head when he was down on one knee. Froch>Groves. No comparison. An old unmotivated Froch beat Groves before Smith did. Ward beat an undefeated, in prime Froch. Revisionist history don't change facts!

I disagree! Ward was a real talent. Smart, able to adapt. I will say, he was a rough fighter, no doubt. All that other stuff about paid off refs and judges, is all cry baby stuff! By the way, did you complain about Smith smashing Groves on the back of the head when he was down? That was way more illegal than anything Ward ever did!

An injustice anywhere, is an injustice everywhere my friend. It may not be your guy getting the shaft today but, eventually he will. The integrity of the sport must be maintained and preserved. I know we don't see eye to eye on many issues but, You got to agree with me on that point!

Smith, despite having 15 cm reach advantage was getting outboxed by Groves. Groves had the better jab and was winning on points on my scorecard.
The only good thing I could say about Smith from his Groves fight was his size. He is big. So his punches deal significant damage on their small counterparts. So that's good to have. He'll be big in LMW as well. If he works on his boxing skills before moving up he might have some chance. But for now, I'm betting my money on 175ers.
