I'm not sure Joshua gets the KO but he would win. Povetkin when prime 4/5 years ago would go life and death with any version of Tua.
Tua is probably cleaner than AJ if anything lol. He's probably one of the few guys from the 90s who didn't juice, I don't see any clear signs anyways. He probably should have!
Yep. It's pretty annoying how those who point out his weaknesses against Wlad/Povetkin, also fail to point out he's actually beating them! Like you say, Lewis/Wlad were fighting against McCall/Brewster and losing!
Hey me and The Akbar One was just telling you what the thread title says. OP mentioned the word prime. You may have not seen the word because you mentioned the age 39, and now youve gone from 39 to age 28 above. Maybe your first post was just an opinion that you were 'throwing out there' and going slightly off topic. Anyway back to Tua fighting Lewis - I dont think Tua was at his prime then. Like some others, I believe Tuas prime was actually when he lost his first fight against an undefeated Ike.
Tua was not a better fighter than Povetkin, the only thing Tua had was a left hook from hell and that's about it. Tua lost everytime he stepped up and that wouldn't change against Joshua. I got Joshua by UD.
I wouldnt say everytime. You might not know this but Rahman, Ruiz and former world champion Michael Moorer were talked about as step up fights for Tua and he won those. Some might say Rahman, Moorer and Ruiz aint much but still, at the time, they were step up fights for Tua.
Oh definitely not. Although all 3 held titles, I agree in that they wernt as good as AJ. I guess I shouldve highlighted the part where you said 'everytime he (Tua) stepped up, he lost' obviously thats what my focus was. Im sure one of those fights, a commentator confidently predicted Tua to lose. Not sure if it was Ruiz or Moorer and it was because they were clearly better boxers than Tua. As you said before - Tua only had a left hook and he landed it early and surprised everyone.
As far as i remember Moorer wasn't really a step up because he fought him at the end of his career as a genuine contender. I thought it was clear that i meant the fights against Ibeabuchi, Lewis and Byrd.
Oh ok, no you didnt mention those names till now to be fair/honest. Those names were step up fights no-doubt. Tua never ducked anyone did he lol, not like whats going on now. It mightve been the lead up to the Ruiz fight. There was a step up fight where so many predicted Tua to lose but Im not sure which...
The mythical Tua of hypothetical threads has been able to achieve a level of greatness that eluded him in real life. He manages to beat greats and champions in these threads that he never managed to in real life...he would be competitive and finish on his feet....but he would lose the decision and come up just short 116-112 Joshua
Well if he's that out of shape at 28, no 'Prime' versions beats Joshua. No surprise to see the Parker fanboys who got the Joshua fight completely wrong are backing Tua.....
