Look I think were living in reality in that someone is innocent until proven guilty. Its more of a fantasy just to believe in what youre saying just because. Im not trying to have a dig at you at all for your beliefs. I guess the best way to convince people that everyone is doping, is to prove it. If you can prove it, I'll tell you were right as soon as I can. We cant just go on your word. Everyone? really?...
There is no need what so ever to have peds in sport. People will take things to the extreme and people will suffer. The weight cutting and rehydration things is a good example of things getting out of hand. I'm watching zombies weighing in on a Friday afternoon having to be carried to and from the scales it's like scenes from an oxfam advert it makes me want to send them £2 a month. Then the day after they look like they belong 3 weight limits above. It's all good until they are knocked out in 2 rounds by a relatively llight puncher. People are prepared to go to real extremes for any advantage and if they are free to go too far they will.
“Not being there” for a mandatory random test = testing positive per protocol. You duck th test, you failed the test. Now, let me ask you this: if an Olympic sprinter takes PEDs, he runs faster. Does anyone’s brain get bashed in by his advantage? Does someone end up in a coma if they don’t take the gear and the other sprinter does? Because this is boxing and an illegal advantage can get someone literally killed. I’d also note that while you (probably correctly) assume most top sprinters are on PEDs, they have not been made legal there and a number of notable, world-class runners have been banned for positive tests. So why make it legal in boxing (where someone can die) and not in running?
Just let the corners give oxygen to the fighters in between rounds. Stamina would be great, no adverse effects from harsh drugs, guy can concentrate on skills instead of stamina when training for fights. Get better fighters.
Do this and then the wealthiest boxers from richest countries would start to investigate things like gene doping. People will always look for an edge, the playing field can never be level....
To play devil’s advocate how is that any different to the situation where some fighters have access to nutrition, sports scientists, state of the art fitness equipment and the best sparring partners and others are training in basic Rocky Balboa type conditions? In any event that’s already the case anyway. Look how many elite fighters hire Heredia and Conte.
Yeah but legalization makes it worse. Just because things are bad now doesn't mean we should allow it to get worse. Testing makes things more controlled and dissuades people from going full science experiment.
I don't think everyone gets an advantage. Taking peds is like a drug, everyone reacts differently to them, like alcohol. I also believe the mind is the best weapon in boxing, knowing you are taking substances can obviously improve physical abilities however there must be physiological side effects. As a fighter you know there is a form of cheating going on. That must have some form of negative effect, conscious wise. My opinion anyway.
