TheWeasle an MMA youtube channel stated Conor McGregor would be beat by Floyd with MMA gloves, if no kicking or grappling was allowed because MMA fighters push their punches but knock fighters out because of MMA gloves, having said that an MMA fighter holds the world record for the hardest punch ever thrown measured by a punch machine, but theWeasle stated that the reason for this may be that a boxer has never been measured using this method and he would love to see Wilder`s punch measured as for AJ his punch was measured in units on the Graham Norton show and he came nowhere near the world record.
Jesus mate. Where do i start. 1. The so called ’world record’ was by Francis Ngannou and was a PR stunt done at the UFC sports academy where only a handful of mma fighters have even tried it. 2. AJ was using a stupid punch machine for fun that is no proof of anything. You can hit 700 on one machine but get 900 on another with the same force. Joe Calzaghe got 999 on one on Soccer Am. Is he the worlds hardest puncher? Dear oh dear
Jeremy Williams black belt in judo, Lennox Lewis got toss around by him. Good enough boxer to close the distance, and use his judo in the clinch.
Thanks, it didn`t look that hard, but the way people around the MMA scene were talking had me doubting myself, the youtuber talking on the vid has a habit of going overboard with certain combat sportsmen.
Think about all the times Cro Cop put people out with that left high kick. The Super Samoan ate that shot like it was nothing. This content is protected
Unless he's also a seriously trained grappler he wouldn't. Fedor beat Semmy Schilt (7 feet tall, 300 lbs and arguably the GOAT kickboxer) in his FIRST fight in PRIDE.
Yea impressive, especially considering Williams was a small heavy, like 215-220 lbs, and Lewis was around 250 lbs...
If you have grappled, it's not impressive, it's expected. The sensitivity involved and understanding of leverage is rarely seen in boxing, but happens in every grappling gym on the planet.
It does but it doesn't. Especially when you have an open weight division in grappling tournaments. For a smaller guy that is just seeing how far technique can take you. That wouldn't be allowed in boxing. But that said 180ish pound Marcelo Garcia was the second best grappler in the world at any weight. He lost to Robert Drysdale who was about 250lbs. That wouldn't be sanctioned in boxing, most likely.
Yeah I have to agree. No grappling = major hole in game in MMA. Even Cro Cop who is renowned as a striker was skilled in jiu jitsu.
