How great could Frank Bruno been if he'd jogged 3 miles and eaten blueberries?

Apparently that was the key to Marciano's ATG stamina and chin.

That depends. Is he sleeping 14 hours a day? Does he know what a jab is? Is he fighting David Tua?

Do some people think Bruno was less than a top contender in a time of good heavyweights? Getting tired/stopped versus, Bonecrusher Smith, Lennox Lewis, Tim Witherspoon, and Mike Tyson is no disgrace (those are the only people who beat him). Don't see many boxers in history having a good record facing that group...
On the other hand, Bruno fought five fighters who weighed less than 200, none lasted over 4 rounds, two went out in one, one in two, one in three, one in four. Funny how Bruno is a punch line to some who post here, but he'd probably beat almost anybody who came before him.

He's just butt hurt over the Marciano myth-busting in the other thread. He'll be ok--just give him some time.

Marciano`s hand speed was far quicker than Bruno`s because of his weight, he countered every punch thrown at him, constant pressure, a big well muscled fighter cannot fight at that pace, plus Marciano had a far better chin than Bruno.

To be honest, Bruno did everything right except lose.

He was very focused on his training, and always in immaculate condition.

I think that he just reached his level.

Those guys who only lasted a few rounds with Frank would only last a few rounds with Marciano also and they would have taken more shots because Rock threw far more punches than Frank and Jumbo Cummings wouldn`t have hurt Rock the way he hurt Bruno, Marciano would have destroyed Cummings with ease and he would have beaten Lewis pre Steward and Tyson after Rooney left the camp and Wither spoon in that flabby condition he was invs Frank who threw as many punches as Rock used to throw in tat fight and gassed, Smith wouldn`t have landed as many punches on Rock as he did on Frank because Rock fought from a crouch like Tyson and Smith landed far less punches on Mike than he did on Frank, different class.

He missed too many punches, Rocky gave opponents a scary beating with Volume punching, Bruno gassed trying to do that vs `Spoon because he was missing so many shots.

He was around after the great jab revolution of 1964, so I don’t think there is too much to gain for him.

    But what sub 200Ib fighters?

Lupe Guerra, KOed atleast 5 times by sub200Ib fighters (some of the fighters who KOed him have no weights listed at all)
Tony Moore, loosing record, including plenty of losses to sub200Ib fighters
Stewart Lithgo, stopped by 4 other sub 200Ibers
Peter Mulindwa Kozza. Stopped in a round by both sub 200Ib Taoufik Belbouli, and by Guido Trane who may have been sub 200Ib (205Ibs 3 years later)
Bill Sharkey, lost to 5 other sub 200Ibers, including 6-2 Stanley Ross who would go onto have a losing record (Ross himself was KOed in a round by two different sub 200Ib fighters)

Hardly the cream of the sub200Ib crop

For the record I have have nothing but respect for Bruno, this thread wasn't meant to take shots at him.
