This is a match up both guys can win in different parallel universes (Heavyweight division is 1 punch changes all).
I'd say if they fought 1000 times both in peak form (to take out randomness), Lewis would win about 65-70% of the time.

 

Also first losses are a big factor in a career. And in the HW division at some point a boxer is gonna take a loss, probably by KTFO. Happened to Lewis twice, of course and he came back stronger to avenge both. How will AJ deal with losing? We simply don't know....

 

For me LL is the greatest H2H HW of all time and obviously an ATG. AJ hasnt come close to facing 1/4 the opposition LL fought and beat. Dumb thread and anyone picking AJ...... Dont know what to say really.

 

Lewis's feet are SO much better. He's got the lateral movement AJ simply does not possess. Great clip...

Lewis would outbox him and then stop him. Nothing currently to suggest otherwise. If we're going Lewis' prime against the best we've seen so far of Joshua, anyway.

 

Yeah he moves laterally so much more and just moves more in general, he's nowhere near as static or as predictable as Joshua. He's also just much lighter on his feet than Joshua, he can change direction in an instant if he finds himself out of position and vulnerable while Joshua has to reset in a similar situation.

Lewis uses different angles and is just more versatile in his approach. His jab is far better and versatile, he uses a greater variety of jabs like the half jab and the corkscrew jab and obviously he uses his jab with greater frequency. Lewis could win fights with his jab alone, something Joshua couldn't do.

Lewis' work has so much more variety too. He throws little shots just to touch his opponent, to gauge range and responses, to keep his opponent guessing. His head movement is better too, he keeps changing range in different ways. Not just with his feet but by leaning in throwing shots from that position and then leaning back and throwing shots from there too, so his opponent doesn't find it as easy to gauge distance.

 

Agree with all the above but I do think it's his footwork which is main point of difference largely because to execute all the above you have to be in the right position to do so. I also think footwork is AJ's biggest flaw although I also agree his jab is somewhat monochrome compared to Lewis' technicolor...
