Just thinking about it, it's pretty sad

    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Ended up broke
    Henry Armstrong
Ended up broke and with a drinking problem
Sam Langford Went blind and fell into poverty and obscurity
    Harry Greb Died aged 32
Bob Fitzsimmons Died of Pneumonia 2 years after his last fight
Ezzard Charles Diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's 9 years after his last fight, and had money trouble
    Joe Gans Died aged 35
Joe Louis Ended up broke (thanks to the US government), and developed drug problems
Muhammad Ali Diagnosed with Parkinson's 3 years after his last fight

Ray Leonard is the greatest fighter alive now barring Duran and still living lavishly. Duran also has a pretty good life too and still enjoys considerable fame in his home country of Panama.

Chavez Sr is another great enjoying life, doing a lot of commentating work.

Gene Tunney, Max Schmeling, Jimmy McLarnin, Archie Moore, Carmen Basilio, Bob Foster, George Foreman, SRL and Jeff French come straight to mind.

    Cheers.

Schmeling live to be 99, and was a millionaire due to being a Coca-Cola representative.

Dempsey made it to 87 and was pretty well off.

Stanley Ketchel was shot to death by the husband of the woman making his breakfast.

Of course Liston died young and broke.

    Marciano and the plain crash.

Vingo was an odd blend of the two extremes. He was the longest living Marciano opponent, but never could find much of a career due to his disabilities.

Max Baer the opposite: starred in movies and did all right financially, but died of a heart attack at 53 or so.

Eder Jofre is a good story. Born in a gym literally into a family of athletes, boxers, wrestlers, etc. His family lived in the back of his father's gym and began boxing since he was a toddler. Lead a healthy vegetarian life. Still very active and alive today at 82, successful in business owning several supermarkets. Released calisthenics videos as well very late in life...

Dempsey didn't die at 87. He merely abandoned his Jack Dempsey identity, and lived the remainder of his life being Max Schmeling full-time.

IN addition to those mentioned already, Larry Holmes seems to be doing pretty well.

Chavez looks great. Marciano looked good in the interviews I saw. Larry Holmes really was out of line in 1985. Marciano had died and Larry said that in front of Rocky's brother.

Neither Lamotta or Jeffries were," well off".
