Why was Rigo over the hill at 37 yet GGG is prime at 36?

Was watching some YT videos and reading some comments and this kinda struck me. A lot of people seem to be holding both of these views together. Literally 1 year age difference. I can already see the "Oh every fighter's prime is different" **** incoming. OK, fair enough, what were/are the cues that Rigo was shot yet GGG is in his prime, if this is what you believe. In fact Rigo's got the better style for aging and took a lot less punishment in his career, not to mention has had far fewer fights.

That's an excellent question. He wasn't. Its called people with agendas to push.

You can usually tell when a fighter is on the decline based on their performances.

Pvetkin and Wlad were slipping, Rigo and Linares were not. GGG just stepped up, and looked very good instead of unstoppable.

And who says Golovkin is prime at 36? Those people are wrong anyway.

Stepped up past prime, Canelo was the only fight out there for him in terms of legacy and finances, and it was a waiting game for him..I think while Jacobs is a good fighter he's overrated, especially on here, and again GGG's pressure speed had diminished some making Jacobs look better than he is

I think Cubans are usually older that what their birth certificates say, that and smaller fighters age faster. Also theres no way either are prime, not shot but not prime.

Just like at age 41 against Joshua, Wlad was somehow “The best shape he ever was and fought the fight of his career” Lol Nevermind in his prior 2 fights he showed OBVIOUS signs of declining.

Rigo hadn’t shown **** as far as being on the downward slope. Right before his loss to Loma, Rigo was “A jaw breakin killa” And a “Glitch in the matrix” Then right after he was “Old and past prime” and of course “Way outsized” Lol 9lbs And 3 inches in height :D :wanker

Funny those same idiots didn’t have **** to say about Povetkin being 39 and out weighed by 24lbs and 5 inches shorter than Joshua.

Obviously people (and boxers too) age differently, but like said, the main reason is agendas.

Ali wasn't just shot at the age of 38, but rather riddled with a .50 machinegun, while the guy that beat him to a bloody pulp was over the hill at 38, but could still mix it up with and even beat top10 class opposition.

The comment section on youtube channels is worse than this place. Most people here purely troll, on youtube it's fanboy central.

But he is definitely closer to his prime than he is to being washed up/shot.
Dude can still fight at the highest level.
Just look how easily he destroyed a lesser fighter in Vanes.

Rigo was inactive coming up 2 weight classes against a guy who everyone knew he had no chance against he's also a midget who fights in the lower weight classes you tell me a fighter who fights at 122 that is ranked in the top 10 p4p at his age 99% of fighters the size of rigo are done by 32 let alone ranked in the top 10 p4p.
GGG was a career mw he didn't move up in weight and was the bigger man against canelo he was active and seen as this ko monster. Before the fight all you heard was ggg was going to brutally ko canelo. GGG was p4p #1 and still seen as the best.

These are 2 entirely different scenarios that can't be compared one guy was the favorite and one guy was the underdog.
