I said it was embarrassing, which it is. Him banging on about 'lineage' just makes a mockery of the term.
John L Sullivan, James J Corbett, and Bob Fitzsimmons all retired for years before coming back and it's generally just considered part of the lineage.
In fact Bob Fitzsimmons won the title during Corbett's retirement, and Corbett fought Peter Jackson for the title while John L Sullivan was retired.
The lineal crap Fury and Warren spout is cringe worthy. Everyone knows AJ is currently the number 1 in the division with the best record by far and 3 of the 4 World titles.
Ignoring your anti Matchroom bias, what part of what I said is untrue? AJ clearly has the best record in the division and regarded number 1 by Boxrec (by a very large margin) and Ring magazine.
There's 2 things about this discussion, 1. can you still call Fury lineal while he retired and got banned, and 2. how important is that lineal title today anyway, as it is up for debate who it is and with the lineage broken so many times. There's nothing pure about it, as I would call every of the 4 major belts much more legit as the "lineal" title.
Bs Vs Bs more like , imagine Tim Henman somehow trumped Pete Sampras one year back in the day to win Wimbledon proclaimed himself the greatest ever then refused to enter the tournament again for three years denying a highly motivated Sampras the chance to right a wrong then getting on the nosebag and the pies for 3 years and coming back shouting his mouth off that all his rivals are "bum dosser shitêhouses it would be laughed out of town in tennis or any other sport in boxing it's called lineal status and you get to be a champion it's ****ing embarrassing.
This is hilarious! The hurt Tyson still causes some of the matchroom girls on here is fantastic. The best part is on December 1st he will cement his status as lineal heavyweight champion, not to mention wbc champion and NUMBER ONE IN THE DIVISION. Anyone saying otherwise will look a right tit. Tyson will have gone to Germany and beat 'The Man', and gone to the states to beat the undefeated, most dangerous man in the division. There will be no debate, Tyson will be King again!
