Better to measure his inactivity not in terms of years but in terms of llbs gained. If you then reverse that calculation he's actually been inactive for about a decade....
Sorry man, Wilder deserves a **** ton of credit. Fury showed a lot against the Albanian CW and a peak Pianeta. Those are the kind of fights that get you ready for a return to world title level after almost 3 years out of the ring. There aren't any question marks over Fury's current ability or this fight in general. Come on. Why would you argue otherwise?
Hmmm. Fair point on the credit. Might be a trade off though. This fight is going to bring him unprecedented levels of exposure and should put him nearer to the mainstream, something that fighting 100 Ortizs and Washington's wont do. The trade off is there will be a lot of excuses. I dont see the risk you do though so thats where we differ. I really dont think Tyson has much of a chance. Huge fight, adds exponential momentum to his career, becomes lineal heavyweight champion, Vs People wont give him credit. I do see your point though and think its a good one. He definitely will receive 0 credit for the win.
His last three were Klitscko, seferi and Pianeta. He did not stop Klit or Pianeta. Essentially I agree with you. You don't see too many 6'9", ambidextrous boxers. Really, a lot of purists don't see it because he is extremely awkward and unconventional, but that is perhaps why he wins. I hope he knows what he is up to with Wilder. I think he does.
Oh my bad you guys are right. 5/7 then. He definitely knows what he's up to. You can't take away his boxing IQ which is arguably top 3.
Fury is the best heavyweight on the planet and will box Wilders head off. Making Wilder look silly for 12 rounds. End thread.
When you have that power, you always have a chance. But there's a vast, vast, gulf in boxing ability between the two. That's not to mention Fury's size advantage. The elite boxer generally beats the puncher. With Fury's reach advantage added to that, I'm confident he'll win a wide decision.
This. What in the world is he basing that opinion off of. Fury admittedly has talent, but calling him one of the most skilled heavyweights of all time with his resume is outrageous. Guys like Louis, Ali, Wlad, Marciano, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis, etc. proved their skill by dominating their division and beating a ton of top contenders. Besides beating an old and shot Wlad, Chisora (Good fighter, but not great) and Cunningham Fury has a long way to go considering he hasn't even proven to be the best skilled heavyweight in his own generation yet.
