Jeffries was in such dire financial straights at one point that as an old man he was forced to return to the ring giving exhibitions with Tom Sharkey.Lamotta may have been happy but well off he was not.

So once again I am right------

And you are wrong, just as you were on the other thread.
    Remember this?
    Your post
    1. Corbett was semi-retired and 5 years inactive when he faced Fitzsimmons, therefore most likely very rusty, not in top shape and for anyone obvious faded, as his peak was around 1892, what you constantly try to hide, although I teached you about it some months ago. While he narrowly turned it around and would have likely won few years later.

Näher was just as past his best when he fought Fitzsimmons, but at his best when he boxed Choyinsky. Fitzsimmons also lost against a novice Johnson and his first fight against Sharkey was no knockout, therefore he official didn't win it.

You just make bad gossip and allege lies, as always.

    3. My reply.
    4. Corbett had fought Sharkey to a draw just 9 months before he fought Fitzsimmons. He was 30 years old the reigning champion with just15 fights under his belt.
Maher fought Fitzsimmons in Feb1896 and was ko'd in 1 rd
He fought Choynsky in November 9 months later and ko'd Choynsky !
Choynsky didn't beat Maher until 1900! When Maher was an alcoholic.
Johnson had 57 fights under his belt when he fought Fitzsimmons who was 43 years old!
Why don't you do some ****ing research before making these nonsense claims and making yourself look absolutely stupid ?
      You're a ****ing NUT JOB!
Of course you ignored the corrections, as you always do!

Terry Downes had a comfortable life after boxing. He got into the property and bookmaking businesses.

Dad was gonna fight him until Harada pulled the upset, Harry Levene wanted to make it in London. I talk to his son Marcel from time to time on messenger.

He'd give him a good go, as he would any bantamweight.
