YOU DON'T KNOW SHT ABOUT BOXING Paineta was a glorified sparring match Fury pulled all his punches AND CARRIED HIM In round 12 Fury asked Ben if he should stop him...but Ben told him to take the rounds. Now Fury is sparring Joe Joyce for the next 6 weeks in camp and will be schooling his ass off. Wilder in his last fight was losing to a 49 year old man with heart problems.
I thought he looked poor against Pianeta too, but not because he lacked power. He’s always lacked power. It’s just never been his thing. He looked poor to me because it looked like he was getting hit. Evasion is his thing, and he was lacking on it.
It kind of reminds me of the situation going into the bout between Trinidad and Hopkins, where Hopkins won a decision against Keith Holmes, and Tito blasted out William Joppy.
A focused Fury fighting rather than show boating, will cause Wilder a whole heap of headache in the early rounds, Furys boxing skills are stratosphreres above Wilders, and ok he may not have a punch to match his size, but he is a tall bulky unit who can nullify another fighter just by his size and boxing nous should he so choose. Now can Fury after such a unconventional build up and after his enforced long lay off, stay focused and be fit enough for each of the 180 seconds of each of the 12 rounds, as Wilder needs just one opportunity to detonate his bomb? If this was the Fury from the Wlad fight then yes Fury wins easily, however i see a determined and very fit Wilder having the beating of Fury at this stage, Fury can have had the best camp ever, but come fight night Wilder in the other corner has a whole heap of reasons ($$$$$$$) to be many times better than any opponent Fury has faced in camp, Wilder has been fighting while Fury was feeding. If nothing else once the winner is known, no one can claim either fighter was over the hill age wise.
Pianetta was paid to lose, not saying he would /could have won but he never even tried for the KO despite never being in trouble or tired.
The actual head shots landed cleanly outside leaning or clinching and clearly on Fury IF you watched the fight and counted not any compu b.s... Rnd 1. THREE solid shots land. Rnd 2. TWO solid shots land Rnd 3. ONE solid shot landed on him Rnd 4. THREE solid shots landed ( barely) Rnd 5. ONE solid shot..lol Rnd 6. THREE shots. Midway that's around 13 shots landed AFTER 6. This is the easy to hit guy on this forum..lol Rnd 7. ONE shot. Rnd 8. TWO shots. Rnd 9. ONE. Rnd 10. ZERO..thats right "0"! 17 shots landed ....not sure what would qualify as not getting hit in ten rounds here? lol " it looked like he was getting hit.' The nerve and in a boxing match ? I see where you guys are coming from but for real what are you guys watching at times?
So you watched the fight blind folded and missed all those Fury body shots and inside head shots that had Pianeta whiffing for air mid way through and mentally defeated bc he could not land hardly any shots to hurt Fury ? See above post it REALLY applies to you. lol
I wouldn't be surprised to see Fury get dirty with Wilder like he did Cunningham. Expect a Gypsy forearm to Wilder's nose followed up with a clubbing shot to the jaw if he gets to Fury but doesn't put him away with that attack.
Well Wilder went nine and was wobbled by Molina yet Arreola finished him in one. Arreola faired no better against Wilder for that because triangle.theory doesn't work and styles play a huge difference. That said based on that performance I don't think Fury can go twelve without Wilder landing something significant on him but until he does Fury will probably outbox Wilder comfortably as he is infinitely more skilled.
spot on assessment, fury is a clever man in and out of the ring. I bet he had his route to Joshua mapped out long before he stepped back in the ring, and i would be confident that looking flashy and sparking nobody's out wouldn't of baited deyontay into the only fight that would get him in position for the ultimate goal to get his titles back from Joshua.
I'm a fan of both fighters. They've both already been more successful than most thought they would. The fight is a good test for both. I'm picking Wilder, but it will be interesting to see how he handles Fury's height and reach. Klitschko was getting hit from a range most fighters couldn't reach him at, and he basically shutdown at that point and embarrassed himself. I think Wilder could have a similar problem in the beginning, but he won't shutdown for the entire fight like Klitschko. Wilder starts off very slow at times when he's feeling out an opponent and looking for an opening, but he eventually goes on the attack; even when it puts him in danger of being caught with a counter. Fury isn't a huge puncher, but he has enough power to hurt Wilder if he catches him rushing in. I wouldn't really be surprised by any outcome, but I'm predicting Wilder's speed and reach will allow him to land his right hand and stop Fury between rounds 4-6.
