Is it just me? but my appetite for a genuinely interesting heavy weight title fight, is fading rapidly. Due to the ridiculous promotion of the fight.
So far the pressers for Fury WIlder have been nothing short of embarassing, for the fighters and the sport. I dont buy the fake heated exchanges/on stage pushes theres no needle in this fight at all; staged to levels WWE would be proud of. As dissapointing as christmas day power cut.

I literally came on here to say the same thing! It’s so pathetic and embarrassing them trying to clip up fake fights for news networks. Why can’t they just sit down and analyse each other’s records, have trainers dissect the fight. **** this pantomime it’s an embarrassment to boxing. I will watch fight obviously but I don’t think it will be good. I think Fury will spoil like crazy. If he can box effectively like against Wlad he can win, I think it’s too soon and he will close distance, just survive for 12 and lose on points.

Its a hard one to call to be honest especially now as iam bored of it allready, but i think Fury wins without breaking a sweat, the wlad fight/performance is so over rated its a joke, fair play to fury for the win, but he out boxed an opponent who had no interest in exchanging wasnt up for the fight. Wilders best win was ortiz no question, the ref bought him time in the corner to get them invisible cuts seen too, but that old man was there for the taking from the 6th, wilder has no fight plan what so ever he just relys on getting an opening. Fury will not give him that opening in my opinion.

Great points but I think Wlad beats any other HW that night. I would also point to Spilzka fight rather than Ortiz (who is so schooled) - another southpaw Wilder struggled badly against. The only defence for the performance is that he was demotivated but other than the decent finish he was dreadful.

With that performance? With that level of motivation? With that willingness to engage in exchanges?

Its a difficult one to call tho as i dont think anyone saw that performance coming from wlad, credit to fury still tho.

Most people couldn't give a toss about this fight, I checked earlier and when I looked less than 8k were online watching the press conference on BT's YouTube Stream.

It isn't making the news I've seen because it isn't interesting, Fury shouting "Dosser" and jumping around isn't new and it isn't funny any longer.

It's all just embarrassing, it looks staged and fake, the "beef" isn't beef, it's like a beef substitute.. I like to call it. "Quorn".

Wilder fans and Fury fans can keep trying to tell everybody that this is a HUGE fight and you never know, come fight night it may well be but right now it is a little fight with two fighters who are not big in terms of fan base and it's generating very little interest outside Wilder and Fury fans.

Anyway, fingers crossed they somehow turn it all around and make this a big event, maybe they should give Hearn a call, and ask him how to promote an event.

I blame it all on Fury. He's a douche, first division. Tiring as hell to listen to, repetitive, and in the end you know he'd never throw a punch on that stage. I will say this: I think he'd out trash-talk Ali.

As for the fight, never thought I'd root for Wilder, but I hope he does knock Fury out. I don't think he will though. Fury is too big and I think he'll find a way to win.

The pressers aren’t meant to entice people who will be watching anyway.

Do you think the casual fan will buy this fight based on a boring Q&A session with journalists or a bit of pantomime bs?

What PPV event has Hearn promoted in the US? Slightly different to having Sky Sports doing the donkey work for him and appealing to casuals through their news channel and lead-ins via Prem football, darts etc.

That media Q&A with Fury demonstrates very clearly that despite his vices he is on a completely different intellectual level to the likes of AJ/Wilder (obviously) but basically the vast majority of boxers also. Few prize fighters can articulately answer questions like that for 20 minutes, without grooming by PR handlers too.

Clearly staged as nothing was said to really set Wilder off. These bizarre lectures to promote fights are the sad legacy of Mayweather vs McGregor I guess.

We've got these two nutters doing WWE style promotions while "humble" AJ celebrates victory while walking in to the ring.

What. A. Time. To. Be. Alive.

I cant take any of it seriously. there is nothing genuine about this event, at all feels forced and fake, and I wouldn't be surprised if the fight itself ends up staged. its a circus in my eyes. compare this to heavyweight buildups in the 90s and you wouldn't believe its a boxing match, there is absolutely no real tension to this. I know people like Fury's antics but he is in danger of making fights a laughing stock. he did it in his first fight back and seems to have continued in his attitude of not being serious or genuine about fighting. The actual fight will tell the real story I guess, I'm not sure I want to know it....
