Do these testimonies remind anyone of GGG?

"Joe was one of the hardest hitters in the ring. Four years before I met him, Joe, who helped me later to train, dropped Bob Fitzsimmons on his back in their Boston battle and drew in five rounds with Bob. Fitz later told me that nobody ever hit him as hard as he was hit by Choynski and I could believe him, judging by what I got. I can say the same. I often wondered how men like Fitz and Joe got their terrific punch. When I fought Choynski the weights were announced as 167 for Joe and 219 for me. Joe at his best was only a light light-heavyweight, yet could punch harder than most heavyweights. Every one who fought him, including Jim Corbett, said the same of Choynski as a hitter. And he was as clever as they came. He had everything a great fighter could possess."

    Choynski has the endorsement of:
    Jack Johnson
    Tom Sharkey
    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Jim Corbett
    Jim Jeffries
As the hardest hitter they ever met, thats 4 world champions and a leading contender.
    What comparable endorsements has GGG?

Different era a LHW couldn't do that now, then skintight gloves to 5-6oz gloves now 10oz gloves. Guys in those days would fight anybody at any weight it's too regulated now for anything like that ever happening again, so you cant really compare.

Different era, a LHW couldn't do that today, too regulated today. Also way smaller gloves, skintight to 5-6oz, today 10oz gloves. So, it's not really comparable. Both great fighters though.

Sorry, posted twice thought I lost the first reply.

One of the 100 things you is wrong about. The trainer who I worked with name was Mark Anonthy. He fought as a cruiser in Japan as a kick-boxer flat out told me the obvious. I have good hand speed and power.

One of my favorites was when the other guy would hold the heavy bag. There was this talented welter holding the bags thumbs in ( Gym or boxing people know why thumbs in, I doubt you do. ) and I'd knocked him clear off the bag, pushing him back 1-2 feet after he anchored.

So those who claim Jeffries said Choysnki was the hardest hitter he faced are wrong. It's clearly Fitz. I agree that Choynski was one of the hardest hitters Jeffries fought. He caught him with a punch to the mouth / teeth. Back then there were no gumshields. The blow wedged Jeffries lip into his teeth area, and one of his cornermen had to cut a piece of skin caught in there loose. While that must of hurt, it could have been the placement of the blow that hurt, more than the power behind it.

Yet he only knocked one of them out and it was Johnson. The match happened when Choynski was past his prime.

Shouldn't a big puncher have lots of KO's on his resume? Where are Choysnki's?

Now for your daily double standard. If Choysnki had such power, the others must of had iron chins.

Joe was more of a speed oriented type of puncher with sting than a thumping type of power guy who put guys out for the count.

GGG has a 22KO streak and multiple title defenses. There's his power or just watch his fights.

This great interview with Jim Jeffries was posted by McGrain in 2009.
I thought it could stand another airing, refreshing the memory of older posters and be of interest to newer ones. Thanks again McGrain!

Yes. I own that one. I'm not sure how long the you tube video was. Jeffries actually has a warm and pleasant sounding voice. I also have Joe Walcott ( Original ) talking about his career, and well as Tommy Ryan.

You can see Tommy Ryan speak here:
