Im consistent with my views on drug cheats, if you cheat you should be banned for at least a minimum of 2 years. When Canelo popped I wanted him to get banned and now this guy who is clearly a bigger pos than Canelo with his antics outside of the ring should get a ban too.

Of course I wanna see the fight but if they ban this clown I will be happier.

    What’s your view?

But only because I bought tickets to the fight.

    No.

I want to see Andrade take the belt from him.

Weeks ago, my opinion would've been vastly different, I wanted BJS to win.
But now we know how much of a scumbag he is, I hope he never steps in the ring again after Andrade beats him.

Depends what the rule is here.
I'm hearing conflicting reports about it being allowed out of competition or not. UKAD seems to allow it, but they seem to let get their countrymen get away with a lot, as this would be a major loophole.
But it doesn't seem to be allowed in the US, in or out of competition, and that's where the fight is taking place.

    Depends.
UFC just made a move where they won´t immediately release the info when a fighter pops. And i think it's a good move. First investigate what happened, how it happened and then come forth with a verdict.
No need to slander someones name if they are actually innocent.

Contamination is a huge part of the equation. It's not just what you ingest, it's also what you don't know is there, while you know it's should not be in it.

So if BJJ really did get flagged due to a nasal spray, then there should not be any harsh punishment.
We were just told that he got busted. We don´t know anything about PED's, so we should leave it to the experts who are in charge of those matters.

If BJJ can prove that it was due t contamination and it was low enough levels, then i have no issues with him.

    A great article: https://www.nutraingredients.com/Article/2015/09/17/The-decline-of-sports-supplement-contamination

I mean, I totally agree with all of the above but strict liability means not knowingly taking a PED is not a defence. That said UKAD says the substance he tested for is OK out of competition, as do WADA. But VADA says it's on their out-of-competition banned list as do some (all?) US boxing commissions.

This is a proper mess and I think the fact that even the testing authorities - and the boxing authorities - are conflicted over its legality will probably be his route out of all this. How can it be okay in the UK but not in the US when a UK-based fighter is preparing for a fight in the states?

Is be guilty? Is he is then no, he should be banned. If he's not guilty then he should be allowed to fight. They should hold a hearing to establish the truth and go from there.

I note the lab director or the head of the WBO hasn't spoken. This is positive.

This. Too many authorities with their own interpretation of what's banned, and when, obfuscates the matter and makes it more confusing for everyone - including the boxers.

For the record, I think all boxers should receive lifetime bans and I can pretty much guarantee that the threat of this would be enough to stop boxers eating Mexican beef or wild boar.

I don't even know, this might be a "set an example" and "we suspended the poster boy of boxing for less"
and they claim it was he had a bad piece of meat... and had "proof" Billy Joe was taking a nasal spray that some people would consider legal, would it be legal in the Olympics, he claims it would be. Just because Billy Joe Says so and you're a fan doesn't automatically make it fact. a ban of 6 months and losing his belt wouldn't be that harsh. but anything else more would be too much. Do I think he's guilty, sure. and I thought Canelo was too. It sounds like it's an IN competition drug and not just because billy joe says so.

It's a coin toss if it's fair or not. in a corrupt sport like boxing Billy Joe should be allowed to fight, then what? they could find drugs in his system. a long "I don't know" I have a feeling if this fight is close.. 115-113 wise it will go to Andrade no matter what.

I think he should be banned for 6-12 months, 2 years seems like a bit of a harsh punishment.

I say that based on my limited knowledge of the ped. I don't think it has long lasting effects.

I also believe he should be tested regularly while banned to make sure he isn't cycling stronger longer lasting peds.

Him and his feral family can be right scumbags outside the ring that it’s hard to feel any sympathy for him right now.
