Why doesn't the WBC order a final eliminator for Wilder's belt?

They did and Dillian Whyte pulled out of it because he was afraid of Ortiz

 

That was for 'second mandatory'.

The second mandatory position is won by being ranked number one and holding the WBC Silver belt. It entitles you to a shot at the title after the number 4 ranked fighter has a go and of course you must beat the guy who had a shot at the title and lost in order to gain this position.

Note that the title holder is entitled to 5 voluntary defences per mandatory defence so second mandatory holders should allow three years for their turn to arrive.

 

They ordered a final eliminator last year, hence why Dominc Breazeale is Wilder's mandatory. Going by the usual record, that fight shouldn't be due for another year or 2.

 

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard...no wait...that would actually be the WBA having three heavyweight champions.

 

He fought Stiverne in a mandatory less than a year ago. Breazeale is the next mandatory and Wilder is fighting Fury first.

What’s the big deal?

 

The 'big deal' is that: WBC Champion, 4+ year reign, Stiverne mandatory and Breazeale next mandatory, are all being put in the same sentence by Wilder fans as if it makes any reasonable sense.

The HW weight division has been happening for 3.5 years utterly without the WBC champ participating and being in the least bit relevant.
It's shameful and reflects badly on boxing if it's marqee division is in such disarray.

 

He was the WBC’s mandatory. My argument is that he satisfied his mandatory obligation less than a year ago and last I checked you don’t have to make those every 4-6 months.

I don’t think Stiverne should have been the mandatory, but that’s down to Povetkin failing a drug test before an eliminator (just as Wilder was set to fight Povetkin as a mandatory and then Povetkin failed a drug test and put that situation up in the air). If Povetkin had stayed clean the first time, he’d have been fighting Wilder. If he’d have stayed clean the second time, he’d have surely knocked out Stiverne and moved back into the mandatory position.

Wilder fought Ortiz, who is as good as any mandatory IMO, this year already. Now he’s fighting Fury. Breazeale will get his turn, I’m sure. Is this all about being upset that Wilder is fighting Fury rather than Breazeale, lol?

 

While you are right, fact is by the time he fights Fury his mandatory will be overdue and what if there's a rematch with Fury how long does Wilder get this time to avoid a mandatory? The WBC made a statement a while ago saying Wilder had til end of year to face Breazeale but that now isn't happening because of the Fury fight, so will Wilder be stripped of the title? Obviously not the WBC will bend to Haymon's wishes again and alter their rules as it suits them.

That's the issue I have with this. Personally I prefer he fights Fury but you can't ignore the fact the WBC is happily ignoring it's own rules to accommodate another Haymon fighter.

 

Because the cronies who own Wilder and corrupt the WBC are terrified of the belt leaving the USA and being beyond their control. Fury/Warren must have signed a memorandum of understanding that if they win they have to pay Haymon/King/Suliaman/Deas/DiBella's pensions for them.

 

Because WBC is a highly corrupt organization whose president does shady individual deals with promoters, advisers and TV networks which are not in accordance with WBC's own rules. Therefore, those rules simply get ignored.

he could fight 2 more top 10 fighters and he is not geting a shot at wilder anytime soon

and joshua holds the other 3 belts and already beat him /so most people including myself do not really want to see joshua v whyte 2,

would whyte taking a hard fight v ortiz get him a shot at wilder / nope.

if he did beat ortiz and i would favour ortiz that would be whyte`s third final final final eliminator and he would still be behind breazeale as second string mandatory which would have to be enforced in 4 to 5 years time ?

best he can do is match tough and earn money that way v other top 20 fighters
i dont think he has much chance v wilder or joshua but he does deserve the honour of having 1 world title fight in his career.
