So Luis Ortiz, a Cuban-American who doesn't speak English, had his Spanish translated to referring to himself as "...us boys in the south..." and laid claim to being from " down here in the good ol' USA..." and used Dixie syntax and vernacular? Yeah right.
he probably said something along those lines, but i very much doubt he said the exact words said in the quote. it was probably "americanised"
I speak some Spanish and I believe Ortiz only speaks Spanish , you would only say we bring it we don't sing it because it rhymes it doesn't in Spanish , fake news
Wilder must be teaching Ortiz English, he's speaking in Alabamain. Facts are facts, Whyte is a PPV headliner, Ortiz is fighting on undercards. Pretty certain anyone who isn't Joshua, Wilder, Fury, Whyte is demanding no less than a 75/25 split his way and even less for a fighter with Ortiz's fanbase size. And why shouldn't he? Joshua, Chisora, Miller, Povetkin or Kuzmin could be easily made, even Breazeale is on the phone. It's not like Whyte is short on big money/big fight options that hes desperate to cater to the needs of a B side desperate for a name TBA. If Joshua is the Golden Goose, Whyte is the Silver Eagle.
The problem with Ortiz is that he puts pride and principle ahead of making political moves which would further his career. Because of this you can never really blame heavyweights who look at the big picture and feel like there are better opportunities elsewhere. It seems to me that Ortiz is far too comfortable being the boogeyman and sitting on the sidelines instead of getting stuck in.
Whyte has responded saying he won't fight on the Fury/Wilder undercard but he'll fight him in UK on December 22nd
Why would Ortiz expect them to travel to face him? Both have better resumes than Ortiz IMO. Joshua as champ doesnt need to travel for Ortiz and I think whyte has a greater resume overall with Helenius, Chisora, Brown and Parker
he's talking about Whyte. he just put Joshua in with the "UK cowards" group. And i'd be apprehensive about coming to the UK seeing as it was a poor refereeing decision that got Whyte the win against Parker, plus the judging over here. but in terms of who SHOULD travel, yeah i agree, Ortiz probably should be the one to travel.
What poor reffing? Whyte won that fight against Parker. What about the ref letting Wilder have time at the start of a round against Ortiz, if you are going down that road. Fact is the UK doesnt have coward HWs. Far from. Its the UK HWs that take the challenges with far less fights. Look at how Chisora in 21 fights had fought Vitali Klitschko, undefeated Helenius away, undefeated T Fury, undefeated M Scott, D Haye to name a few, how Whyte with only 25 fights has fought undefeated Brown, Helenius, Chisora and Parker, Fury who in under 30 fights will have fought Wilder, Wladimir, Chisora, Hammer, look at how Joshua in 22 fights has fought undefeated Whyte, undefeated Martin, Wladimir, undefeated Parker, Povetkin, undefeated Breazeale. The UK HWs seem to be the ones that set the bar high Many HWs are top 10 rated because they dont fight out of the UK where I expect if they were based in the UK may not even be top 5 in the UK alone and there are less than 50 HWs based in the UK
