I've heard reports also claim that it was more like $770,000 worth of tickets which at the ticket prices for the Staples Centre works out at between 2 and 3 thousand tickets. Fans hardly falling over themselves for what's being touted as the most significant heavyweight title fight in a decade.

This should have been made next year after Wilder got his mandatory out the way and Fury actually fighting and defeating someone ranked. As it stands, no one has the foggiest idea how this fight is gonna go. Intriguing, maybe but, I would much rather see a fully fit and motivated Fury giving Wilder all he can handle. If however, it's just a cash out fight for Fury which it could well be, well all those ticket buyers are gonna be mightily disappointed.

And what the eff is Boxing ego up to posting a million ticket sales as oppose to a million dollars worth. What an absolute, Wilder knob riding scrub, nothing but fake news and click bate.....Jesus. Doing Wilders cause no favours whatsoever

Simply a pr exercise trying to use the 1 mil to sound like they have sold plenty of tickets. Honestly when has this ever been done before? Usually one will announce a sell out and then the gate receipts after the fight.

These jokers are so desperate for a PR story they issue a press release claiming $1 mil in value tickets sold which means absolutely nothing.

All I can say is if try to buy tickets right now I can see a lot still avaliable.

How do you know they are selling like hotcakes?

The nose bleed seats have sold but they still need to shift a lot more.

I have a friend who works for AEG as a ticket rep. He got me pretty good seats and said he was surprised at how quickly the tickets were selling. The building was pretty full after only a couple hours.

Eddie Hearns reaction to this id great; "If AJ had only sold $1m worth of tickets in 25 minutes I would fall down having a heart attack as it would be f*cking disaster. If we hadn't sold $5m worth of tickets in 10 minutes for AJ fight it's a disaster. $1m worth of tickets, whats that five or six thousand tickets? Do me a favour"
