Somebody actually said “he knocked out all four fighters under 200”....yes all those 200 pounders and under are the same...no difference...whatsoever

That was a joke, but that argument has been made for real about other fighters.

New thread idea: Peter McNeeley vs Jack Dempsey

Or maybe Dereck Chisora vs Sonny Liston

Lmao that is the kind of arguments seen often here. “He weights x amount more he automatically wins”

Are Butterbeans arms freakishly short or do they just look that way because he's fat as a hog?

Just think about that! If Ali had the benefit of modern training and nutrition he could look just like Bean. A shame that we will never know how good Ali could be in this modern era

I know these claims are probably the classic forum orthodox view (based on the same old “they were ATGs for chrissakes!!” arguments) but they’re far from obvious to me.

Kevin, when you can snatch the pebble from Bert Sugar's hand, you'll understand the greatness in Max Baer, Jim Corbett, Tony Galento, Primo Carnera, etc. To appreciate the boxers of the past, one needs to stop thinking for oneself and watching what one "thinks" he sees on video, only when you can "feel" what Bert is communicating to you through the pages, will you "understand."

Interesting....if Louis steps into the ring like he did with Galento he could get hurt Butter beans for all his faults power is not one of his weaknesses.......once Louis like he did with two ton Tony realizes the guy is dangerous he will turn on the afterburners and wreck him
