Having looked a lot more human as he aged/stepped up his level of competition which fighters both active and retired wish they'd have had the cojones to try and derail his hype train when it was at full speed? I think Froch probably wishes he'd given it a go. Who else might be harbouring regret over not having made that fight?
I was thinking Froch myself. He looked in genuinely good nick and would probably have given a good account of himself. In retrospect, its probably good Chavez never fought him because Canelo cleaned his clock; Golovkin would have put him in ICU.
How about Ward? Do you think he wishes he'd stayed at 168 and lured Golovkin up rather than his controversial run at 175?
to be fair, 3G wasnt moving from MW, so anyone outside that wouldnt ever have found him an option. So no Froch and ward cant actually wish for something that wasnt happening. however 3G may yet move up, i have faith in him doing it, and he will conquer SMW or/and LHW very soon, watch and see.
he'd have moved up for a warmup. he didnt. but like i say, watch and learn, he will be up to SMW and LHW, and then watch out beterbiev, i say.
Golovkin wasnt washed up or past it when Ward was at 168. I am sure Ward would love to fight this older Golovkin at 168 or 175 doe.
I don’t think there was a fighter out there that would see the final bell against Golovkin in his prime. As he aged (and became more inactive), he became less the destroyer that made him famous and more of a boxer. I think he finishes Jacobs off and Canelo too if he fought them at 30 instead of 35. There’s a reason nobody big wanted to get in the ring with him during that time.
Ward's a strange cat. Who knows what goes on in his head, he may even think he's somehow spiting GGG by not fighting him. I'm fairly sure that he thinks he could beat Golovkin; why he never took up he 168 offer is strange since he was just about done with his career anyway.
