Yeah, probably. To handle Inoue you’ve got to give him something to worry about. I like Burnett but I doubt he hits hard enough to stop Inoue walking through him. He may end up just blitzing this the way he is fighting. I don’t see Tete troubling him too much either.

It may take Nery at a catch weight stuffed with contaminated beef to give Inoue a genuine test.

 

One of my favourite fighters at the moment. Just brilliant. He’s not broke sweat in his last 2 fights.

 

Even the jab appeared to snap his head back. Some power there.

 

Holy jesus this guy is on fire.

Inoue is a man full of confidence at his work.

 

The scary thing with Inoue is that his style isn't based on blitzing opponents early. He's very patient, cuts off the ring well, is probably the best body puncher in boxing, and probes for the openings his opponent gives him. He's not going in there reckless and throwing the kitchen sink looking for an early stoppage like an early career Nigel Benn.

It just so happens at the moment that when he does open up, his combination of speed, power and timing means that guys are quickly falling over.

It's easy to get carried away when a fighter scores a couple of quick wins, but he may well be the best fighter in the world P4P. He hasn't proven this in the ring yet, but if he mows through the WBSS in this fashion he has to be right up there in the discussion.

 

Special fighter and unlike many special fighters he is damn exciting. One of hardest hitters ever p4p. It's not even one punch, every punch he throws comes with bad intentions.

 

Getting a wee bit carried away lads. He was always going to beat Payano. Rodriquez is quite clever and will be a big step-up in opposition. If he takes care of him, then he still has (theoretically) Burnett or Tete to get past. It's not in the bag yet, though. Far from it

 

I think Rodriquez is his biggest threat in the tournament.

 

So do I. The point I was trying to make was that people seem to be getting a little over-excited about Inoue, who so far has beaten fighters you would expect him to beat comfortably. Rodriquez lacks power but is very good on the back foot, is hard to hit and definately won't be walking on to right hands like Payano did. The idea that he will simply walk through people who lack power isn't always the case.

 

I totally agree m8. Personally speaking I was talking about his unbelievable power. If and its a big if Rodriquez could get through the first 5 or 6 rounds winning a couple of those rounds and without being badly hurt, then he would have a great chance of winning. I love the look of Rodriquez.

 

yeh it didn't even look that powerful a shot, thought it was more of a flash knockdown at first but payano couldn't get up.

 

It was such a beautiful shot and amazing quick movement to move around like that. Set him up with the left before stepping to the right for a big right hand.

 

Looks very good, doesn't he. His timing is fantastic, great movement & speed. Inoue will take some beating.

 

What can you say...inoue does it again, in less than half a rd. It's hard to argue against him.
I always thought imoue was slightly overrated and although I'm still not sold on him 100%, @Twentyman identified exactly what it was what probably makes him so good.
How inoue delivered that 1-2 took great skill, it was beautiful.
