Why should that weight difference be acceptable and allowed. . . .Miller vs Adameck?

    I'll reapeat. Adamek CHOSE to fight Miller. Lomachenko did not CHOOSE to fight Adamek.

    Putting a cap on the division is ridiculous.

    If Adamek (who I am a fan of) doesn't want to fight guys that size he

    A) Shouldn't sign for the fight.
    B) Can go back to cruiserweight.

    The funny thing is, the two most recent matches that have the usual talks of splitting the division are

    * Povetkin vs AJ
    * Adamek vs Miller

    Pov vs AJ was a good scrap and one in which had Pov been nearer to his prime, and AJ not at the peak of his, could very well have seen Pov actually win the fight.

    Adamek vs Miller features a fighter who shouldn't be in the division anyways and competes there at his own peril in exchange for the higher paydays... which is EXACTLY what the smaller heavyweights would do anyways if the division was split. The icing on this one is that, once again, the smaller fighter would have a huge chance of actually winning the fight, had the matchup taken place closer to, let alone, his prime.

    David Haye was a similar size.


    Would you not put Prime Haye in with Miller because there's 100lb difference?

    The problem with splitting the division is that you're still going to have crossover anyway.

    There will be a demand to see the number 1 HW fight the number 1 SHW.

    I’ve no problem with the weight difference in the heavyweight division, they are ALL big strong men at that weight. In all honesty, I personally find height a far greater advantage than weight. However, I would favour a weight cap though purely to force these lazy undisciplined tubs of lard to be athletes and the ‘professionals’ they claim to be.

    I am a fan of fighters being roughly the same weight and height, but my question is why is there so much interest in a super heavyweight division now when the issue was never broached when the Klits hit town.

    What would that weight cap be?

    When you have 7 foot plus guys that might want to fight in future... and already have lol... and naturally are 300 pounds

    Miller plans on using his size and bulk to bully the division. That's his intention lol, so what...

    It's a new, bold tactic to reach that sought after payday in the HW division which allows it to happen.

    There's an episode in The Simpsons where Homer had to get super fat to get on disability benefits lol so....

    Go play NBA and earn the real big bucks like most 7ft athletes?

    I would vote for HWs having to make weight because it would even up the physical contest and take HW boxing back to the exchange of skills we hanker after. Fury would be forced to actually get in shape rather than be just a little less fat, for example.

    Super heavyweights have diminished the impact of skills and replaced them with a battle of brawn, and the likes of Miller might start a trend towards even bigger, more ponderous fighters. Anyone who really wants it should be able to make 250llbs and those who can't.... tough. Why should a whole division be skewered because fat blokes can't be bothered to train? Or by unskilled fighters who need to stack the physical deck?

    And honestly an upper limit of 250llbs.... who that we already know of would be ruled out of boxing because of it?

    lol 250lbs is a pipe dream, and unrealistic. Even in the UFC it's 265 which is somewhat more reasonable.

    I don't mind seeing overly large, fat, bulky men like Miller show up because I'll get to see lean, skilled, agile fighters chop him down. Like in old school Van Damme movies.

    That's entertaining for me... and I'm sure a lot of others too. I agree with your sentiments yeah let's make it more professional and disciplined... but meh... let's be realistic.

    Miller is using the unlimited weight cap to his advantaged, and why not? Business is business... use what you got.

    Fighters need to be prepared for all situations, this is life.
