IT was a clear and dominant win but if you think Conor lost every round you clearly don't know how to score a fight

I disagree, Iaquinta did well to survive but lost every round and there was never a point I thought he could beat Khabib while Conor off 2 years away won at least 1 round and there always seemed a possibility he could land something but Khabib is just to good and an animal in the cage and I can't wait to see him fight another animal in Fergurson.
Iaquinta is a tough SOB far more so then Conor who just doesn;t seem to have any kind of gas tank or willingness to tough it out basically quitting in 2 big fights

It doesn't really matter but I believe in that 1st round Conor landed far more strikes and cause mored damage then Khabib who failed to land almost any strikes or do anything with his takedown, spending most of the round trying to get in a position just to land a meaningful shot.

Conor's coach Kavanagh is on Joe Rogans podcast later, should be interesting to hear his thoughts on Conor's performance.

Conor didn't take as much of a beatdown as I thought he would in defeat. He did a decent job at mitigating Khabib's relentless ground attack for the most part. Thought there was a solid chance he'd get a similar treatment to Barboza or Johnson.

Conor won the third based on his workrate and the handful of good shots he landed, combined with the fact Khabib seemed content to keep it standing up and trade with Conor and didn't seem to attempt many takedowns. But other than that, Conor lost the first, was dominated in the second to the point that all three judges had it 10-8 for Khabib, and was dominated in the fourth before Khabib secured the finish.

Based on how the fight went down, if they fight again (in the Octagon ) I cant really see any other outcome than a resounding repeat.

Yes, Khabib was leveraging his weight on Conor. But it's not even like Khabib had the Rear Naked Choke sunk in deep; nevertheless, Conor took the opportunity to bail out.

Pushes the Be A STAR campaign and the notion of a Women's Revolution like it's a newfangled thing, and then sells whatever principles he has left for massive pots of Saudi oil money to run two glorified house shows in Saudi Arabia each year, with the female wrestlers being excluded from those events.

You gotta love that crazy old coot.

Some random thoughts about the fight :

In hindsight it was borderline madness for Connor to fight someone with Khabib's style after two years out of the octagon.

I knew within the first five seconds of the first round that Connor was using the wrong tactics - standing right in front of Khabib and walking straight forward, he was wide open for a TD, should have kept the fight at long range and used fast foot movement and angles to avoid Khabib's TD's

Connor can come back better but no matter how much he improves Khabib may just be his kryptonite

Nah and I like Connor. I mean he showed some positives especially defending Khabib better than I thought he would. But it was still part of Khabibs plan to get him down and sap his strength. Not dominant but effectively imposing his will on Connor to fight his style.

Your right and that is why he was given the round but the only thing Khabib was able to do in that whole round was sap his energy which while important is only a small part of mixed martial arts, imo most of the damage done was from Conor even if it was not a lot .
Khabib is outstanding and on another level to almost everybody with his ground fighting but I think the rules and especially the scoring need to be changed for the good of the sport.
I think the refs need to stand up the fighters who are just holding there opponent down or against the cage for long periods without attempting submissions or landing any strikes, also we need to make sure those score the fights know what the hell they are doing and given clearer guidelines how fights need to be scored, it also seems there is to many cross over judges from boxing etc. with limited knowledge of the sport somehow scoring the biggest fights.
I just know from all my time watching live or on TV that the majority of people watching don't want or appreciate prolonged wrestling and grappling with no action which will usually sap the energy out of the crowd or get them booing when the boring fighters gets the TD and does nothing or spends 2 minutes just to get in a position to land a decent strike.
