Buatsi fighting in 5 days time in Newcastle and his opponent is still TBA on Boxrec? Is it Tony Averlant, Yardes leftovers?
It's his 7th fight, meanwhile Yarde fought Averlant in his 15th fight. While we're at it Yarde turned down a fight with Buatsi himself lol Owned!
I'd imagine Buatsi will actually have the balls to face someone like Burton/Buglioni/Johnson within the next year unlike the cherry picking joke Anthony The Assassin of Budapest Plumbers Yarde.
Burton and Buglioni are quite low British level. Notice Hearn has never even mentioned Buatsi and Callum Johnson in the same sentence?
Buatsi is 25 and only had a handful of pro fights, it seems to be the model Hearn follows with the Olympians where they won’t fight anyone of note until 10th or so fight. Though he did change this with Josh Kelly but was a calculated risk in my opinion.
Logically Butsi is still in his bumbashing fase, expecting him to face a Yarde leftover at this stage of his career says a lot more about Yarde as it does about Buatsi.
Ricky Summers Have you seen his record, apart from Buglioni who he lost against, he has fought journeymen only and has a 31% KO percentage against them.
I think anyone is allowed to fight bums for there first 10 fights but after that it needs to be area/english/british/commonwealth between fights 10-20 in my opinion and then 20-30 should be looking at euro/interim/world title shot I think that’s a fare route
Buatsi is Matchroom so all the Eddie bumsquad will come out in hordes to defend their bumlord. It’s true, Hearn hasn’t even mentioned Buatsi and Johnson, or Buatsi and Buglioni/Burton as potential matches. Yet he’s somehow willing to throw Buatsi in with Yarde? DO ME A FAVOUR! That was a classic Hearn bluff. If Warren called it and said “ok let’s do Yarde-Buatsi, Hearn would have ran a mile. Clearly neither promoter wants that fight just yet. Buatsi has Olympic pedigree. And has shown already that he is levels above this type of LHW bum city opponent. If anyone is going to slate Warren and Yarde for the Yarde bum carousel (which they are right to do) the same treatment should be dished out to Buatsi who is clearly the more skilful boxer out of the two.
Also depends on the timeframe. I've seen starting boxers take on 12 fights a year, coming up to 30 fights after 2½ years. No problem if these guys still fight pushovers after 16 (about 15 months pro) or so fights, and basically start stepping up around 20 months.
