Because fighting Rocky Fielding is clearly not daring to be great, a clear troll thread with a clear troll title in a attempt to rub it in a little more to the people that don't like Canelo or Golden Boy. Only the most love blinded Canelo fans think fighting Rocky Fielding for 1/6th portion of the WBA SMW title is chasing greatness.

Do you ever ask the mods to delete the endless Canelo troll threads? Just wondering if you're a b**** or truly concerned about the quality of this forum.

There's no need to be a jerk or to start name calling, and you know I'm right. Also I don't read every every Canelo thread or even pay attention to most, very few actually.

I'm being pretty even tempered here, just saying name calling is unnecessary.

Well you have Super, Unified, Regular, World & Interim. I apologize I exaggerated 5 portions so 1/5 of a WBA title.

Champion in recess is probably what I was thinking of for the 6th portion but that is something all governing bodies do, so you really can't count it. But take Cruiserweight for instance. Usyk is the Super Champion of the WBA, but they still count Gassiev as a champion, as well as Arsen Goulamirian, Beibut Shumenov, & Denis Lebedev is Champion in recess even though there's nothing wrong with Usyk who is Super or Gassiev who lost the Super to Usyk but is still counted as a WBA CW champion. There's HW, where Joshua is the WBA Super, Manuel Charr is the WBA World, and Trevor Bryan in the regular.

So basically there are 5 pieces to a WBA championship 6 if they declare a champion in recess which apparently the WBA can do for no real reason.

Moving up a weight class and fighting a champ in the division above is in fact daring to be great. That's not to say that Fielding is an Andre Ward or a Carl Froch. He's not that, but Canelo has decided to fight a much taller, much bigger fighter in which he's giving away lots of weight. Generally when a fighter moves up in weight when he doesn't have to, that's seen as daring to be great. Canelo has a chance to become a SMW Champ, regular or not, that would be quite a feat for a guy who's really a natural 154-lber.

Again I'm not trying to act like Fielding is a big name or even a great fighter, but the fact that he is a recognized world champ at SMW and the fact that Canelo has decided to move up in weight shows that he is daring to be great.

To give you a sense of comparison, when RJJ moved up to Heavyweight to fight John Ruiz, Ruiz wasn't the top HW in the world, he was seen as the worst of the HW champs at the time. But it was still considered to be an incredible feat for RJJ to become a HW Champ because he was a naturally smaller man moving up in weight.

I did not expect Canelo to move up to SMW right away, I think we all expected a title defense at 160. For him to move up and take on Fielding at SMW is daring to be great, because of the size disadvantage, because he's giving away weight, etc.
