And slow and long winded, Furys jumped back on him by the time hes finished trying to get a point across. Wilders just too slow. But come the fight i fear we will be saying Furys reactions were just too slow.

I think that was just some nlp type self motivation stuff. He's visualising success in other words. That's something lots of athletes do.

Hahaha.....the WBC probably allow the hellfire and levitation rule. It's a technicality, though some refs would object to the horns being used for infighting reasons. Matthew Hopkins would have been a good ref, but declined as indisposed with a centuries old death condition. His ancestor Anthony would be perfect.

Sulaiman would have no problem with Canelo sprouting horns and breathing fire. He'd probably have a special pentacle belt made for him.

Ummm. Not so simple as that.

Scroll to about 11:00 on the interview.

What Wilder said to Fury was that he wouldn't be facing nice Deontay when they fought but the Bronze Bomber.

Fury asks him, "so what's that some sort of alter ego?" and Wilder replied that it may be an alter ego or maybe an ancestral spirit because he is part Nigerian.

Such beliefs are common in Africa and its not at all unusual here to believe that one's ancestors look over one and influence one's life with supernatural powers. There's a rich tradition of ancestral spirits possessing people for various reasons.

I don't believe in supernatural forces (ancestral or christian or otherwise) but, case in point, we have a mask on our wall at home that was used in funerary rites. The user of the mask channels the spirits of the ancestors and BECOMES them so as to be the avatar of the ancestors at the funeral. The person thus possessed is no longer responsible for their actions for as long as the ancestors are steering him. Wilder clearly believes in this stuff and is using his bronze mask in a similar way to channel ancestral spirits. I only twigged on this now.

On Fury's side, what Wilder is doing would certainly be classed as inviting demonic possession by Christians (at least the ones I know ... your mileage may vary) so from his point of view he is 100% right in seeing it as a showdown with Satanic forces.

What's interesting is that both these guys clearly have an enormous self belief and trust in their convictions. This fight could be better than I thought.

It's certainly gained an added dimension of interst for me.

    Check this out:

"In most traditional African cultures, the person who wears a ritual mask conceptually loses his or her human life and turns into the spirit represented by the mask itself.[3] This transformation of the mask wearer into a spirit usually relies on other practices, such as specific types of music and dance, or ritual costumes that contribute to conceal the mask-wearer's human identity. The mask wearer thus becomes a sort of medium that allows for a dialogue between the community and the spirits (usually those of the dead or nature-related spirits)"

I don’t usually buy into the ‘won the battle at the press conference’ type. But, Tyson clearly won this one, and you can’t deny that he got under Klitschko’s skin.
Wilder had to resort to the stupid, “there’s only one bronze bomber” chant. Cringe. He didn’t have anything to get under Tyson’s skin. He could’ve mentioned (which he may have before) about his uncle not being in the corner. About the long layoff and how this is a cash grab. And that he’s not worried about Tyson as at most he’s going to move and pitter patter jabs.

Yeah its very hard to get under the skin of yappy types like Fury. It's best to power up in the gym and do the talking in the ring.
