Ali was laughed at in his early career, people thought his style was weak and the first real monster he was gonna fight was gonna kill him because he done everything wrong but he got away with it. I think Wilder is in that position now, but he can bang. Its no secret that Ali struggled with fighters that had solid basics, like a consistant jab, but his movement and other qualities bailed him out majority of the time. I think it will take another European style heavy(solid fundamentals) like the now retired Klit bro's to dismantle Wilder, if Fury was match fit it would be him, but we don't know how good his tank is. If Fury had 2 more fights before Wilder then I dont think Wilder would take it(bit like Bellew)I firmly believe the Gypsy King would mug him...Thoughts ??

Yes, a fit Fury could beat him. No, I don’t see the Ali comparisons.

Ali was an Olympic gold medalist, living in a time of oppression, and adversity. By his 20th fight, he’d beat the man, and became the man.

Ali dropped by Cooper 27-8-1 (British and Commonwealth Champion)
Wilder dropped by Nichols 4-2 (All you can eat buffet champion)

18 year old Ali wins Olympic gold in 1960 beating 3 time European champion Zbigniew Pietrzykowski.
23 year old Wilder win Olympic Bronze in 2008 losing to an Italian police officer 7-1.

Ali fights Sonny Liston in his 20th fight and shocks the world to become champion
Wilder in his 20th fight shocks the world too by beating 6" tall 39 year old, 11-1-2, David Long. Nobody can believe this fight was sanctioned.

Ali in his 32nd fight, takes on Smokin Joe Frazier in the fight of the century.
Wilder in his 32nd fight takes on Landscape gardener Jason Gavern in an empty arena.

Yes the parallels are obvious, can't believe I never saw it before, thanks OP.

But seriously whatever you're smoking must be some crazy synthetic military grade ****.

That was early in Ali's career. Wilder has already had 40 fights and only fought one decent fighter who is 40 years old.

The only thing they have in common is their body weight and Wilder is 5 inches taller. Skinny as a rake!

Yes, but Wilder fought legendary Jesse Oltmanns in his 22nd fight. It was unprecedented achievement.

Clearly you've never piloted a commercial jet liner or computed course corrections for a geostationary satellite. It's a little known fact that NASA had a copy of Aston Villa' fixture list at mission control after the gravitational pull from Bruce's oversized noggin almost brought down the International Space Station.

This is the dumbest thread I've read on here so far. There is no parallel between Ali and Wilder at all. NONE. Ali beat the best guys in two decades and never turned down a fight because of a % hahah. Wilder has avoided all the best fighters in the last decade and he is STILL not fighting anyone in the top 30 (Fury is not ready and should not be ranked so high). Wilder has successfully avoided Klitschko, Parker, Whyte, Miller, Pulev, Povetkin, Joshua, Breazeale, Jennings, ...hell I'd even say a fight with Chisora would do but nope. Instead he's fought Szpilka, Duhaupas, Molina, Arreola, Washington and a host of other guys who no one remembers.

It's like comparing the ability of Stephen Hawking and Donald Trump to decompose string theory and it's relevance within quantum physics.
