Yes I agree. The question then becomes if the cost per acquisition and retention rate of Canelo fans is sufficient to justify the outlay on his enormous purse requirements. This however is starting to feel like work...
I don't think that it matches their format lol. They'd probably lose more than they gain. I don't even know if they really have the money for this.
If they don't have the money to sign Canelo/GBP, they need to get out of the sport. I'm 100% sure they could make that work. Clearly Canelo pays for himself. Do you genuinely believe a Canelo fight couldn't drive 1.5mn+ subs in the US at $10? They would make millions a month just off the plebs like me who forget to cancel. If only a quarter keep their subscriptions through to his next fight it's a bigger win than 5 years with the WBSS or Eddie Hearn at the rate they're going. If they really are paying Hearn $150mn a year, they'd be mad not to guarantee half that to Canelo alone for two dates a year. It's a no brainier and would be a legitimate statement of intent.
Hating on who? DAZN have an incredibly unique chance to sign the biggest draw in US boxing right now and they clearly have the money to do it. They need to jump at this as HBO pulling out and Showtime being at odds with the promoter is a once in a lifetime opportunity. How can pointing that out be labelled as hate on any level?
I agree with every single word there. But it is far from make or break, Not signing Canelo, 1 Boxer to a multi sport network is going to break them. Would be a fantastic signing, their best one by a distance but its not the end of their world if they dont get him. But with the money he makes via PPV sales its guna be tough to stick him on their platform.
Like i said before. You know how some people take a puppy before having a kid? Just to get used to having to take care of a living being. Well for DAZN boxing is the goldfish before the puppy. DAZN will let Eddie do his thing. They are in no rush.
No they don't Dazn's model is not PPV. Canelo is a PPV star. Once DAZN starts charging additional costs I'm out. Right now DAZN is providing an amazing service. Bellator and a lot of boxing. I'm satisfied and I bet a lot of people have been too. If they're thinking long-term they'll stay with a non-ppv model.
Apparently on top of a guaranteed purse someone like Canelo can get a percentage of the subscription money that they bring in.
I'm good with that then. If DAZN asks me to pay 70-80 dollars to watch a Canelo fight or a Joshua fight, they can go **** themselves and I'm unsubbing.
Well, well, well. Davo does it again. I said DAZN must seize the amazing once in a lifetime opportunity to sign the biggest name in boxing who just so happens to hate Showtime. Turns out they agreed and broke the bank to make it happen, as I said they must. Even the Hearn suck off brigade were in here saying Canelo doesn't make sense for DAZN. LMFAO. When will you all accept that I'm the most knowledgeable poster on this forum and when it comes to objective fact-based commentary I keep it 100.
While your man Eddie is doing his thing, playing with puppies, DAZN just bought a mother ****in bear. LOL.
