Mark my words. Wilder's biggest flaws are his leaky defence, and that in most fights he takes several rounds to "get into the fight" One day he will lose and it'll be someone coming straight up the middle with power shots in the early rounds of the fight. After around round 6 wilder actually becomes a lot better because he is actually good at reading what's coming at him and adapting to it. This is where Ortiz made a mistake by not opening up earlier than he did. Regarding Fury, the only way I see him winning is by building an early lead and then switching to spoiling for the remainder of the fight so as to avoid wilder landing the right hand. Because he doesn't have the power to stop wilder and rounds 7-12 are gonna get very messy for him.
That doesn't have anything to do with this post but ill play. Fury had a perfect style for Klitschko who is OCD in the ring, super structured and requires all the variables in place before he throws a punch. You may remember Manny steward having to scream at him to let his hands go against eddie chambers who had nothing for him save a bit of movement. Fury's erratic style was perfect to shut the big man down because klitschko will simply not take any risks. Wilder isnt klitschko, he's inferior in many ways but he WILL start windmilling like crazy against Fury and he can afford to miss 50 to land 1 Fury will frustrate and outbox wilder for a while but eventually wilder will say screw it and start going hog wild until something lands
Agreed I've thought something similar about Wilder for some time now. He's shown this trait in other fights vs Washington and Szpilka. Early on he's tentative, trying to gauge distance and timing and figuring out his opponent. But then later on in these fights once he has this he asserts himself either going on to the front foot or sitting and waiting for the counter opportunity. The longer the fight goes the more danger Wilder poses and more of a chance he has of finding the KO. But he still has to find the KO, if he doesn't Fury wins a decision or at least wins but gets robbed. Not sure Fury has the power or style to stop Wilder early, Joshua is more suiting to getting Wilder out early.
Fury is a points winner not a knockout man . Wilder wins anyway Fury has been away too long and hasn't looked good on his return. Fury doesn't give a **** either way.

Ben Davidson is a concern going into this fight since is track record doesn't prove he can steer Fury towards championship level. afaik his boxing record is pretty much a blank page and he's more of a boxersize trainer than a real trainer. Wilder will have Mark Breland in his corner who has 40 years experience. Breland vs 20 something Davidson with 2-3 years experience as a trainer?? It would have been great to see Fury train under Dominic Ingle for this fight. Fury has the right style for the Ingle school of boxing.
Of all the stupid things that I have ever read on ESB, this just may very well be #1. Wilder wins late because he fights pastry chefs, school teachers, chinny cruisers, and the medically unfit. Ortiz's mistake was being a 40 year old guy with high blood pressure.
One thing Fury does has is a fantastic gas tank. I see Wilder clipping him early but if it goes late Fury won't get reckless
Yeah, I see it very similarly. It's why I think AJ is a bad style matchup for him, at least if AJ goes back to being more aggressive early on.
Agree with Inferno. Wilder's gonna make the mistake of fighting some past it geezer (I'm hoping Povetkin) and is going to discover that the old dude still has one good fight left. He nearly made that mistake vs Ortiz.
