Vasyl Lomachenko looks like he's chewing bullets anytime a possible fight with Garcia is mentioned. He wants this fight so bad. The particular's of the negotiations don't seem to interest him. At all. But with Arum and Mikey it's the opposite. Garcia was already involved in a multi year long contract dispute illustrating how far he is willing to take his greed. And Arum pockets a ton of the money that Loma makes himself. Arum always likes to take a massive piece of the pie himself. If Mikey comes on Arum's card Mikey won't receive nearly as much money himself. Mikey is not going to budge on the money when it comes to Loma fight. This is a high risk fight for both fighters and Mikey wants to be compensated for the risk. Likewise, Arum doesn't want to risk Loma taking a loss without a lot of personal gain for Arum. So Loma is stuck in between the greed of both men. And is shut out of the biggest fight of his career. Neither Arum nor Garcia will budge. Mikey has already bucked before. He will buck again. He just seems like that type of fighter when it comes to his money. As for Arum, he's probably looking at this Mikey guy thinking, "Kid know your place, I'm ****ing Bob Arum, you know who I am dip****? I'm Bob ****ing Arum, you don't tell me what to do". Greedy ****er.
Let's be real. Neither Mikey nor Loma are massive moneymakers. This isn't a fight where the economics would prevent the fight from happening.
Arum and Mikey want as much as the pie as possible. And they're willing to freeze out the fight for more of the pie.
