No one wants see to Whyte vs Chisora 2.

Whyte turning down Ortiz (bearing in mind it's a gateway directly to Wilder) to face Chisora instead, is absolutely pathetic.

This is the moment Whyte's career nosedives in terms of respectability.

Most comments here, all over YouTube, and increasingly in the media, are noting Ortiz being overlooked. I'm half tempted to troll Whyte in the build up to the fight with a Cuban flag and relentless chants of "ORTOZ! ORTIZ!".

If this Chisora fight gets made, who else wants to join me in trolling Whyte publicly!?

 

Didn’t the wbc say that a fight between whyte and Ortiz would make the winner number 2 in line to face wilder behind Breazeale?

Whyte should just fight Breazeale next

If whyte had taken the fight against pulev then this merry go round wouldn’t even be discussed and then he could’ve fought h fury after that which is a good fight imo

 

Ridiculous, Whyte has done more than enough to be the #1 contender without having to fight either Ortiz or Breazeale. The WBC are no better than any of the other alphabet bodies.

 

More people wanna see it than Whyte v Ortiz, and it'll do much better numbers ar the box office. You need to try and live outside your own bubble.

It's like saying nobody wants to see Pacquiao v Mayweather 2 but the numbers it would do better numbers than say, Lomachenko v Mikey Garcia.

Anyway, Ortiz don't deserve the fight. He hasn't beaten anyone as good as Takam, in his career, and Chisora is more likely to make it to the fight without failing a drug test

 

As a Chisora fight I want to see Whyte/Chisora 2, the build up and fight itself is guaranteed to deliver, could be FOTY contender.

As a boxing fan I want to see Whyte/Ortiz too, it is in reality the better fight and has more impact in regards to the landscape of the heavyweight division.

Personally I'd prefer to see Whyte/Chisora and Ortiz/Joyce.

I would have like to see Ortiz fight... but there will be less excuses if Whytr beats Chisora, rather than Ortiz.

I don't know if I'd call it an easy fight, Chisora is very game and very confident after that Takam fight.

This guy is durable as ****.

Will be very entertaining just like the 1st.

 

Almost feel sorry for Whyte. He’ll have absorbed some serious damage by the time (if ever) he gets a sniff of the WBC.
Bad timing for him all round.

 

People will give Whyte chit for taking Chisora over Ortiz but if the fight is anything like the first they'll quickly forget about that and be giving both guys kudos for giving the fans another brilliant fight. If it's close fans will likely clamour for a 3rd fight.

If Ortiz wants to put more pressure on Whyte to make a fight he'll need to step up himself, he can't expect things to change if he keeps fighting Cojanu's of the division. Joyce would be a logical step for Ortiz beat a Brit and get on the UK casual fans radar to build interest in Whyte/Ortiz.

You are never.going to please the people that are giving Whyte stick... you might aswell try converting their religion.

I think breazeale would been good, this fight is purely cash/fan fight and sets up AJ if he wins.

So its a reasonable move.

 

It's a good fight actually. If Whyte tries to box from the distance, he should win comfortably this time, but if he tries to KO Chisora, he's in real danger of losing the fight.

He's not prime Haye in the power department, Chisora will take his punches and land his own (which, as we know from their 1st fight, can hurt Whyte).

 

That fight itself is fine assuming it happens but it'll look bad because they made out that they had any interest in the Ortiz fight.

@Aydamn you'll be hard pushed to find people who wouldn't give him credit had he won against Ortiz.

 

Either fight OK by me. Whyte deserves more credit than he generally gets for the calibre of his opponents. Not many other hw who are consistently facing higher ranked opposition. Ortiz isn't for one.

Chisora gets down rated because he's been around for so long and has occasionally put in some poor performances. When he's up for it though, as he would doubtless be in this one, he's a handful.

 

Fair enough, but at this stage, the ones giving Whyte stick and are firmly in Ortiz camp rarely give Whyte any credit now... so I can't see how they would show a change in attitude after an Ortiz bout when in their hearts they are already rolling their eyes at Whyte's progress in the sport.

I'm sure there will be those giving credit, but I think we know the demographic I am referring too, especially on this forum.

 

We've see how much of a threat Chisora is to the division when he shows up, he is a handful.
The punishment he took from Takam, and to come back from that to Knock him out clean is nothing
short of spectacular, for any era.

The fact that Whyte took on a Chisora that was just as durable and tough, only adds further credit to
Whyte's abiltiies. And we are certainly talking top 10 material among all three.

To add a fourth top ten (top 5 even), the Parker fight was firmly in the Whyte's favour.

He put the pressure, he dictated the pace, he displayed all the tenacity of a fighter intent on
winning. And he was against a man with far greater hand speed and footwork.

Whyte isn't all that fast, and to deal with a heavyweight who can land first at will, is not easy task.
The one that lands first, is always the most dangerous ESPECIALLY when we are talking Heavyweights, where any man over 200 pounds hits 'hard enough'.


So from your perspective, those wins are unimpressive. Yeah maybe they weren't dominant, but a win is a win, whether by a mile or an inch.

The judges scored it so, and the commentators in each bout.. at least from my country,
had it in Whytes favour. And those commentators include former champions like Haye and Froch
who know a thing or two about boxing and scoring. Haye has no reason to be biased towards
Matchroom, to place Whyte in favour of his opponents, as Chisora and Parker were under
the matchroom banner and Haye despises Hearn anway.


You can't dominate a challenging opponent, and a divisiont that you dominate is no challenge at all. So Whyte deserves respect against quality opposition in Chisora and Parker.
