That is a tough question and I will be honest that I have not seen enough of London to give a proper answer, but what I will say is that I always thought Ferguson was much better than both his record, and the career that he had.

A few of those losses on his record (including the Holmes fight) were actually narrow wins. But he would have done much better if he hadn't come up against the human wrecking ball that was Mike Tyson and be subsequently become a professional sparring partner.

Tentatively, admitting that I have not seen a lot or Brian London footage, I would say Ferguson's left hook carries the day.

London bottled it vs Ali because he didn`t want to get hurt, yet Fergie wasn`t afraid of Tyson`s power, having said that Tyson was younger and greener at the time he fought Fergie, but therre`s no way London could have taken Tyson`s punches for the length of time that Fergie did, if he collapsed at the hands of the lighter punches of Ali.

I think Ferguson crowds him and wears him out late. That's what Jesse did best was to crowd guys and I sure don't think that plays into Brian London at all. Just a long sustained pummeling and I just don't see Brian London doing much outside of ring center. I think he spends a ton of time on the ropes.

I also think if the bout took place in Philly or Atlantic city, making London the road warrior, he'd really have a pretty small chance of getting the W.

Ferguson was actually a pretty good fighter. He beat Buster Douglas, and absorbed a hellacious beating from an almost prime Mike Tyson without folding quickly. (Eventually he was stopped, but, for the first 5 rounds he showed incredible toughness and fought back gamely). Fighters like Ferguson that are poorly managed, and, thrown in deep right away often end up with records that belie their talent. Jesse fought everybody. And he hung tough with most of them.

That's why I'd pick Jesse, London was a face first guy from what I know of him.A good on top ,bullying type fighter but I see him coming off worst here. The Fergy that beat mercer stops London imo.

Not sure about the Ferguson that beat Mercer would. But, the Ferguson that fought Douglas and Tyson surely would.

That Version of Ferguson that faced Tyson was one tough SOB.He Hung in there when all expections were he was getting flattened fast. Wasn't it originally a DQ but changed to RSC because it looked bad on Tyson s record ?Seem to recal reading that .
