Besides conquering weak divisions being a weight bully ? Crawford has skills yes he does I agree but what if all those skills won't mean nothing when he faces a big fighter like Porter Thurman Garcia or spence. I don't know about you but I got spence knocking crawfords ass out. He beat Jeff horn so what ? Crawfords power at 147 is weak I keep hearing bud is gonna ko benavidez 6-8. I personally don't see it I think it's going the distance I think bud will win but he will struggle against benavidez. You all will see Crawfords flaws Tommorow that will make you question his greatness

He's not. If he was a hypejob, it would have been exposed a bit already.

He has just recently moved up weight and he is a weight bully?

Jose Benavidez is taller, has more reach & most likely will outweigh Terrence Crawford on fight night. Remember this is Terrence Crawford's 2nd fight at this weight, and in his first fight at this weight, against Jeff Horn, he was most likely outweighed too.

Are there any other weight bullies out there, or is it just Terrence Crawford?

He certainly has skills, but hasn't fought a top caliber fighter yet.

He wasn't a hype job at 135, but he also didn't fight the best opponents at 135. Him and a prime Broner would have been a hell of a fight, especially with the way Gamboa rocked him and made him do the jelly step. Broner might have beaten him.

We will find out sooner or later. Hypejobs will always be weeded out from the elite.

I think the key to this fight is bodypunching for Crawford. I think he can stop Benavidez with bodypunches in about 7

He is very good. He does need a win over an elite, though. I hope being with Top Rank doesn't hold him back at 147. But I have long suspected it will.

Maybe. But the same could be said for Spence, Charlo, Mikey, and many other fighters who get overrated on here.

Now, looking at Crawford from 135 to now, it is clear that Gamboa is atill the best fighter Crawford has fought (including Benavidez) Crawford dominated 140 but 140 was very weak. Postol was overrated(just lost to Taylor), Diaz lost to Lamont and another guy after fighting Crawford, and Prograis stopped Indongo quicker than Crawfprd did. I think Danny would've been undisputed had you placed him in Crawford's position. Hell, winner of the WBSS 140 pound tournament will have a much better 140 pound resume than Crawford. Currently, there is no one Crawford has fought that makes me believe he beats Thurman, Spence, or Porter. Even Danny would be a tough fight. Crawford will basically be seen as another GGG in his prime, a guy who dominates his competition but not truly tested(granted GGG was avoided while Crawford has put himself in a position to not get big fights.) Crawford is a skilled fighter but I have seen better, and I do believe that when he really steps up in competition, he will have a loss or two. So, if he loses every big fight that he has in the future, then, yeah, he will be considered a hype job. Same logic will be applied to Spence also.

I like the post a lot. But I disagree with lumping Mikey among the others. As time goes on, I feel a flaw in my logic has been not ranking Mikey as the better fighter than Crawford.

I will agree that Easter and Broner are better than everyone on Crawford's resume including Benavidez, but Mikey has yet to fight another A-level fighter like Loma, Prograis, Taylor, Thurman, Spence...etc. I don't always look at the eye test, I look at who a fighter has beaten

That is just not true. There are man many fighter's who drop weight and then add on weight again after their weigh ins, so why do only some fighter's always get get "weigh bully's"?

Canelo Alvarez, Julio César Chávez Jr & Ricky Hatton all put on huge amounts of pounds between weigh in and stepping into the ring. Never have I once heard that they are weight bullies.

Floyd Mayweather started at 130 and eventually fought at 154, does this mean he was also a weight bully down at 130?

Vasyl Lomachenko has very quickly gone through a few weight divisions, does this make him also a target for accusation?

I think it's getting pretty ridiculous how loosely the term hype job gets thrown around.
