    That loss to fury + 18 month layoff is far less damaging than an 18 month layoff resulting in a coke binge and ballooning up to 25+ stone.

    Just so we're clear.....

    You know that Wilder's team refused right?

    Klitschko was the champion lol.....Why would he call out a relative nobody?

    @Manfred

    He (Finkle) says there is no need to rush Wilder into big fights against the best of the division; that despite a world title he still needs time to grow and groom his skills.

    “Look, (Wilder) is a baby winning the title. It was his first title fight, they'll be a time for unification, they'll be a time for all those things, he could go and Povetkin (the No. 2 contender) in Russia and make $10 million,” Finkel said to the Tuscaloosa News. “It's not the right thing yet. Give him a couple of fights, maybe bring something back to Alabama. Let him develop just like any other athlete. They don't take someone who is a great college prospect and throw him right in. And this kid is a great prospect.”

    One fight that could happen this year is a match against unbeaten EBU/British champion Tyson Fury.

    That final sentence is interesting.

    That "Unbeaten EBU/British champion Tyson Fury" did what the WBC Champ didn't dare and faced Klitschko.

    So he never did face Klitschko.....
    And never went near Povetkin again, despite allowing Ortiz to fail a test and still fight.....

    I wonder if Wlad/Povetkin had an 18 month coke binge and battle with Morbid obesity, he may have taken those fights.

    You act like he called Wilder out and he refused which is not the case. It's not incumbent upon Wilder to call out Wlad just because he won a title. He had other avenues he wanted to explore but if Wlad would have asked for the fight, I am sure that Wilder would have engaged him and knocked him out.

    But we will never know will we. The same old Wilder "would of" stories. Would of done this to Wlad, Would of done that to Parker, would of done this to Joshua and would of done that to Whyte.

    Why? Fury looks done. This is a guy that wanted to commit suicide and was doing drugs. He also had to lose like a 100+ pounds, literally. This isn't the same Fury.

    I'm sick of the double standards on this forum. Roy Jones was babied like a little kid and given every pass in the world for losing some pounds after Ruiz and getting KTFO. A known PED cheat too.
