Got a decent dig on him but the fella can't box. Next big thing LMFAO. Even got a Matchroom SD. Nowhere near world level and absolute zero chance of winning a world title.
Missed the boxing tonight. I said this since his coming out party against Barrett . Very one dimensional.
Would have been stopped if Patera had more power, or the nationalities were switched. Towards the end of the 10th it would have been a British stoppage. Very enjoyable fight, either way, and I hope Ritson learns a lot from this, and would watch a potential rematch.
Hearn is after the next Ricky Hatton. He thought he had it in Warrington before he jumped ship, he thought he had it in Ritson who got exposed, the quest continues.
Like I said in a previous thread, he has a very Sam Eggington style about him (and not in a good way). What was the scoring about? No way was it split ffs.
Classic Matchroom SD so they can mandate a rematch. Patera said after the fight he would be happy to comeback for the rematch.
I think somewhere over that Irish Sea our @lencoreastside will be smirking not with satisfaction, but with a ‘I told you so’ expression. I thought he was trying to wind people up but he had a point, Ritson does ship too many shots. I bought into Ritson like many others. It was a really bad night but let’s not write him off after one loss. We saw that from Davies Jn who we wrote off after getting sparked by the Polish lad. He grew from it, improved and came back stronger. Ritson can do exactly the same after tonight’s defeat. Johnny Nelson got beat in front of his home crowd early in his career and look what he eventually achieved. I personally think Ritson has got a little complacent...the British lads haven’t really hurt him and he walked through their shots to finish them. He thought he could do exactly the same tonight but that lad was durable and he grew with each round. Ritson’s jab is excellent, in his next fight, forget about absorbing shots, step in and out and work that jab, mix up the shots and the power behind them. Double up the jab, you don’t have to try and stop everyone. He’ll come back a better fighter. Let’s go easy on him, lads.
Warrington is not the next Hatton he only sells well in Leeds and will struggle to pull in good PPV numbers
Just to add, I thought it was 8-4 in rounds. How the judge went the other way is incredible. Even with the 4 rounds he won i would only have given him them rounds for his ring generalship and effective aggression. Patera was having his successes from round 1. Poor judging doesn’t help Ritson.
Especially not a split by 4 rounds. I think that is why Hearn looked nervous awaiting the final judges' score. He would have lost credibility had another corrupt judge gifted a card to Ritson, who himself knew with his head bowed that he had been fairly beaten.
