He needs to work on his feet, it was fairly obvious when he was put in with a decent mover with a chin he would come unstuck. He has decent power but he needs to add a few more gears to his game.

Patera was defeated by a **** poor Mashed Up Dodd who lost to an even greater **** poor Tommy Coyle to make things look even worse.

Ritson was badly exposed tonight and looks to be the Geordie version of O'Hara Davies.

He looks a very limited fighter hyped up to be greater than he really is by the clowns on Sky

He can have success in future fights using an excellent jab, mixing up the shots and power like Twentyman said.

If he does that he will stop some people, can't force KOs or eventually it backfires like tonight when you get someone you just can't walk through and expens unnecessary energy.

He's young and got a good style people will enjoy.

There's nothing wrong with losing as long as you learn from it to improve yourself.

Patera lost to Dodd, not a good look for Lewis. Two of the prospects hyped to the moon and back by Billy Nelson lose on the same night.

Look how they matched him. Cherry picked opponents to make him look good.

Remember when Hearn was trying to brand Ritson as the “Geordie Golovkin”?

Got to give it to Adam Smith on commentary, trying to make out as if Ritson might get a home decision and that it was only just Patera's.

Get him off the mic. We thought Halling was bad!

Absolutely awful along with Paul Smith and Macklin. They all toe the Sky and Eh Day party line on commentary.

Seemed to me like Ritson stopped using the jab after the early rounds and just loaded up on power shots.

The most worrying thing to come out was the way he was hurt bad by a non puncher. I just hope he can improve on his flaws and come back better.

I listened to the TalkSport commentary.

Had Callum Johnson giving his insight into the fight and have to say he was actually very good, he can clearly score a fight properly. Was a refreshing change from the Sky team.

I love Masher, mate. He boxed him so well that night. If only he had a bit more power.

You can see how devastated Hearn is. He’s gutted about the potential pounds sinking in the Tyne. He was having those little digs at his fighter that he does when when they lose. All this talk of the uprising of talent from a part of Britain which hasn’t had any success for years, these massive shows in Newcastle to be shelved for a while.

I bought into Ritson before the fight but I always had in the back of my mind how a crap far from heavy handed Cardle had his successes and almost hurt him earlier on.

For once there were 3 neutral judges which is brilliant because I genuinely thought he was going to get robbed.

Paul Smith was yet again good as a pundit and his analysis on Ritson was bang on, great jab, great at cutting the ring off but when he got him there he just throws one heavy shot and expects his opponent to fold. Patera unlike Ritson was so fit and rattled off many great combos, if he hit harder Ritson would definitely have been stopped.

Fair play to Ritson for the classy honest interview afterwards.

Why not stick Ritson in with Dodd good domestic dust up and real acid test for Ritson.
