Is Crawford a little overrated?

The top 8 or so are all pretty close. You could argue an array of rankings among them.

 

The sad part is we don’t know.. the way the current boxing landscape is setup guys never face elite or near elite competition until after there prime.. GGG didn’t fight near elite comp until 34 Kovalev 33 and Bud might be 32.. Unless the ice is broken between PBC/Top Rank when it comes to top fighters (Not Molina or Diaz etc..) Crawford may become the WW Adonis Stevenson.. If I’m Top Rank you have to pay the winner of Khan vs Brook for Crawford to have a legitimate opponent..

 

Let me see your top ten...how many guys can you name that are better?

 

He is very good but not the best.

The he fought did not throw too many good punches. So the fight was not a good barometer.

Spence will dominate him.

 

I love Crawford but I think he's where he needs to be and that's top 3 P4P.

 

From what I’ve seen he’s P4P.

But needs that litmus test for sure. A Spence bout would settle a lot of arguments. Really hope it happens too.

 

I don't think he's P4P number 1 but he's top 5 P4P for me and I think he'll come out on top at welterweight if he ever fights the likes of Spence, Thurman and Porter.

His resume is most definitely lacking but I think his skills are evident he just needs to make the right fights to showcase them at the highest level.

I get why people doubt him, resume is always the true proof of the pudding, anyone can look good vs overmatched opposition and he has a bad habit of starting slowly which makes him look more vulnerable than he really is. But I think in the end he's going to surprise some people.

 

Today he was exposed.
Shawn Porter or Spence would Smoke tonight's version of Crawford.
Heck, even an old but conditioned Pacman would give Crawford a run for this money.

 

It's just that it's more difficult for any boxer to fight at a heavier weight category.

For example, I would love to see how Spence would do at Super Welterweight.

 

Makes Manny Pacquiao looks even greater....

 

What`s missing? The only person close to him is Loma (who may be even better).

 

Manny had far more many weaknesses than Crawford and didn`t have the power at welter that Crawford has.

 

Pac would be destroyed by Benavides and Crawford, the Horn fight proved that, even if Horn fought dirty vs Crawford he would have been destroyed the same way, Manny`s punches didn`t even have nearly the effect that Crawford`s did in teir respective bouts against the tough Aussie, apart from the 9th round and it wasn`t dirty tactics in the 10th that saved Horn, he was just too big and had an active guard, Manny has never beating a welter on Crawford`s level or with his finishing ability, his arms are too short and he lunges too much at the weight.

 

Spence will be the highest level.
